Neal Moore: Senior lineman prevails against all odds

Neal Moore, a senior lineman at Harmony Grove, as gone through more trials and tribulations than one could imagine in his young 18-year life.

After shattering his left hip during a freak accident as a third grader in 2006, Moore worked hard to get healthy and back on the football field.

Battling continuous pain throughout the years in his hip, Moore stayed on the gridiron. It wasn't until the first game of 2013 that Moore was struck with more bad luck, blowing out his right knee, putting his football future in limbo once again.

Local boy tags Dallas County's biggest buck

Gunnar Westbrook, a fifth grader at Westbrook Elementary, won big at the 25th Annual Big Buck Classic in Little Rock on Sunday.

His 9-point buck he harvested this past deer season scored a gross 123 6/8, earning him biggest buck for Dallas County.

Gunnar is the son of Josh and Monica Westbrook of Haskell.

Saline County Justice of the Peace Steve Gladden and his son, Bryant Alderman Lorne Gladden, have many things in common including a desire to serve and help others.
Steve Gladden served on the Bryant City Council for four terms before choosing to now serve on the Saline County Quorum Court. Lorne Gladden is a new member of the Bryant City Council.
Steve said he is a businessman and decided to serve on the council after city officials passed up the opportunity to have the Hurricane Lake Estates neighborhood within the Bryant city limits.
