A Benton man was arrested for allegedly stealing checks and credit cards and using them fraudulently.
Jonathan Christie, 21, was taken into custody after allegedly stealing a firearm, checks and credit cards from a residence on Hickory Ridge.
â€śIt was further revealed the checks and credit cards had been fraudulently used to obtain money and merchandise at area businesses,â€ť said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton Police Department spokesperson.
Two Saline County deputies during the second day of the Saline County Circuit Court trial of a man charged in connection with the death of two brothers in the Sardis community.
The case stems from an Oct. 6, 2013, incident in which Clinton Dewitt Spann Jr., 67, shot Michael Williams and Donald Williams.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Everett Buick GMC dealership, located in Bryant, will be named the No. 1 Volume Dealer in the nation.
â€śThey base that on total new vehicle sales,â€ť general manager Chad Hendrix said. â€śLast year, we had a combined sales volume of 4,061 new vehicles.â€ť
Hendrix said the dealership has shown an increase from 10 to 20 percent each year since 2006.
â€śI think last year our number was 3,600,â€ť Hendrix said. â€śI would say the last two years have been a 10 percent increase year over year.â€ť
In the morning hours of the first day of trial for a man allegedly responsible for the death of two brothers in the Sardis community, the jury heard the attorneyâ€™s opening arguments and the testimony of the victimsâ€™ brother who witnessed the incident.
This case stems from an incident on Oct. 6, 2013 when Clinton Dewitt Spann shot Michael Williams and Donald Williams.
