Kentucky Fried Chicken, located at 609 Military Road in Benton, will begin to make the transition to its new location at the end of this month, according to franchisee Mark Fikes.
â€śWe should start site prep by the 29th or 30th,â€ť Fikes said. â€śCompletion should be by June.â€ť
The move is in compliance with a recent buyout of the current KFC property by CVS Pharmacy.
â€śCVS wanted to locate there, and there were some other people involved,â€ť Fikes said. â€śWe went through the process and we decided it would be best for everybody and for the city of Benton if we moved.â€ť
Nearly two dozen Saline County businesses received permit approvals for alcohol sales on Wednesday.
According to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division of the state Department of Finance and Administration, 23 businesses were approved for varying types of permits in Saline County. The majority of these include beer off premises and retail small farm wine permits.
Restaurant beer and wine permits also were approved. Businesses receiving these may pick up their permits Thursday morning, but they canâ€™t take alcohol deliveries until the state-issued permit is in hand.
During a special meeting of the Bryant City Council, the council approved spending up to $5,000 to repair or replace the Bishop Park pool pak pump.
The meeting lasted about four minutes, said staff attorney Chris Madison.
â€śWhile doing regular maintenance personnel discovered a weird noise,â€ť Madison said.
This equipment regulates the pool temperature and the temperature in the building, said Parks and Recreation Director Derek Phillips.
