Running for Hudson; mom organizes 'scary' 5K to help foundation

October 27, 2014

Months after her son’s death, a Benton woman organized a 5K race to raise money for a research foundation.
Sarah Burns’ son, Hudson Andrew, died Feb. 19, 2014, at the age of 16 months. He died in his sleep during nap time at a day care facility, she said.

The exact cause of death has not been determined, but it has been ruled a sudden and unexplained death in childhood — also known as SUDC. This is similar to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), but applies to children who are older than 1.

Hudson had been in perfect health, Burns said.
