A man was arrested after Benton officers used DNA evidence to link him as a suspect in numerous vehicle break-ins.
Devin Weston, 30, of Hot Springs National Park is accused of committing12 vehicle break-ins that occurred April 21 near Millbrook Drive and Heritage Farms neighborhood.
During the investigation, various items that included DNA evidence were collected and submitted to the Arkansas Crime Lab for processing, said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton police department spokesperson.
JONESBORO â€” Arkansas State University is closing its decades-old Continuing Education and Community Outreach Center.
The Jonesboro Sun reports that Vice Chancellor and Provost Lynita Cooksey announced the closure on Tuesday.
She says the university is attempting to streamline operations and reduce duplicated work. She says other departments will absorb the functions of the center and no services will be cut.
It's unclear if the closure will result in layoffs. Cooksey says the nine staff members were offered or reassigned to vacant positions at the university.
DANVILLE â€” A four-day search for an Arkansas man and his 10-month-old son came to a grim end Tuesday as authorities discovered their bodies in a remote area of the Ouachita Mountains, authorities said Tuesday.
Brooke Floyd, who was the wife of Brian Floyd and mother of Harper Floyd, remained in jail Tuesday on a preliminary charge of endangering the welfare of a minor. She was seen with her husband and son on Friday morning, hours before she was found wandering alone on a remote road in the area, which is about 80 miles west of Little Rock.
