3rd weekend wreck claims life of Little Rock woman

Michelle Huddleston, 60, of Little Rock was killed in a head-on collision Sunday on Arkansas 5 near Owensville.

Huddleston's 2007 Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on Arkansas 5 when it was hit by a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

Samuel Phillip Yarberry, 16, of Bryant left the roadway on the right, overcorrected, crossed the center line and hit Huddleston, according to the report.

Benton man killed Sunday after truck collides with tree

June 16, 2014

Gary Weems, 59, of Benton was killed around 3:40 p.m. Sunday in Garland County when he lost control of his 1999 Ford F-250. According to the Arkansas State Police, Weems left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Dabbs pushes for CodeRED

The Bryant City Council has called a special meeting for tonight at 7 p.m. This morning, Mayor Jill Dabbs issued a statement in favor of adding CodeRED back to the city's budget.
"I support their decision as it is important for your local government to have the means to effectively communicate with city residents. Text messages and phone calls are the quickest, most targeted, cost efficient manner to communicate emergencies as well as important notifications to the greatest number of people, she said.
