Baby tests positive for meth, THC; mother arrested after drugs found in child's system

A Saline County mother was arrested Thursday after drugs were allegedly found in her child’s system.

Shelby Nalley, 21, of Shannon Hills has been charged with introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another person, which is a Class Y felony. She also is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Nalley's 15-month-old child allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine and tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC, according a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

Dorsey trial set for June; actual date undetermined

The man charged with first-degree murder in connection with an Aug. 21 hit-and-run accident will be tried in June in Saline County Circuit Court.

Marcus Dorsey, 39, of Little Rock will be tried before Circuit Judge Robert Herzfeld on a June date yet to be set, said Rebecca Bush, chief deputy prosecutor. Bush is representing the state and attorney Bill James is serving as Dorsey’s counsel.

The accident occurred on the Target parking lot at the Alcoa Exchange shopping center.
