Bank, AHTD collaborate on Carpenter Street intersection improvement

In hopes of alleviating traffic problems for customers, First Security Bank officials are working with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and Hope Engineers to widen Carpenter Street in front of the bank.

At certain times throughout the day especially in the afternoon, it is difficult for customers to turn into the bank from Interstate 30 because of extra traffic traveling from Military Road, said Mark Vanderpool, First Security Bank president.

This widening should fit within the current right-of-way, he said.
