A man allegedly responsible for a fatal accident that occurred Saturday on Interstate 30 near the Alexander overpass had been stopped by a Saline County Deputy Jack Moseley and was allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to a report released by the Saline County Sheriffâ€™s Office.
The victim, Caleb Alsup, 33, of Benton was driving a 2014 Ford Focus when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Mustang, the Arkansas State Police reported.
Alsup was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saline County Judge Lanny Fite is leaving office in January to serve in the Arkansas Legislature and voters will select between two candidates for his successor.
Current Haskell Mayor Jeff Arey, a Republican, is facing Libertarian candidate Shawn Hipskind in the effort to fill the soon-to-be vacated post.
The Saline Courier sent a set of questions to the email addresses listed in each candidate's information filed with the Saline County Clerk's Office. Arey responded to the questions and Hipskind did not.
