•A warrant is being sought for Joshua Wilson of Benton for commercial burglary at Walmart.
•Kaci Hattabaugh of Benton was cited for animal cruelty at Walmart after leaving a dog unattended in a car.
•A woman on Maple Street was transported to Saline Memorial Hospital after intentionally cutting herself on the leg.
•A man on Ridge Drive reported he was receiving harassing text messages.
•A woman reported a hit and run accident at Saline Memorial Hospital.
•A man reported a woman stole his cell phone from his residence on South Neeley Street.

Mayor Dabbs comments on latest Legislative Audit Report of Bryant

Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs released the following statement this morning regarding a recently completed audit of Bryant:

Legislative Audit Report for the City of Bryant has been released.  I am pleased to announce the City of Bryant had a satisfactory audit with only a few areas of recommended improvements.
As stated in the audit report their procedures indicated that the Offices of the Mayor and the City Clerk were in substantial compliance with Arkansas fiscal and financial laws.

Clean Water Act opposed by Benton city officials

Benton officials have responded to recent regulations imposed under the Clean Water Act.

Officials referred to action taken April 21 when the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers jointly released a proposed rule to clarify protection under the Clean Water Act for streams and wetlands in the United States.

According to information on an EPA website, "Determining Clean Water Act protection for streams and wetlands became confusing and complex following Supreme Court decisions in 2001 and 2006."
