A Benton man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly not allowing a woman to leave her home and making threats against another individual.
Gary Kyle, 53, of Benton was charged with terroristic threatening, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and assault on a family member in connection with the incident, according to the Saline County jail inmate roster.
Kyle also is named in an active warrant for failing to appear in court for careless driving.
The victim told police that Kyle is an acquaintance who came to her residence Tuesday night and asked if he could spend the night.
Early voting is continuing in a runoff election for three mayoral races in Saline County.
Early voting began Tuesday.
In the first two days, a total of 956 voters have cast ballots, according to information obtained from Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis' office.
Broken down by sites, 44 have voted at the "vote here" building in Benton and 912 have voted at Grace Church in Bryant. These are the only two early voting sites available for the runoff election.
LITTLE ROCK â€” Arkansas prosecutors have charged champion middleweight boxer Jermain Taylor in a shooting at his home.
The media reports the 36-year-old Little Rock native was charged Wednesday with first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening. If convicted, he faces up to 26 years in prison.
Pulaski County sheriff's deputies say Taylor shot his 41-year-old cousin, Tyrone DaWayne Hinton of Jacksonville, at Taylor's home in Maumelle on August 26. Deputies say Hinton was wounded on his "lower extremities."
CHICAGO â€” Assistant Chicago Fire Department Commissioner Michael Fox says the pilot in asmallÂ planeÂ crash has died.
The small twin-engine cargo planeÂ crashed into a home Tuesday, plunging into the basement but leaving the bungalow's two residents unhurt.
Fox did not identify the pilot but says emergency crews are trying to recover the body from the wreckage.
The pilot of the Aero Commander 500 had just taken off from nearby Midway International Airport when he reported engine trouble around 2:40 a.m. and asked to return to the airport.
