LOS ANGELES (AP) â€” Leonard Nimoy, the actor known and loved by generations of "Star Trek" fans as the pointy-eared, purely logical science officer Mr. Spock, has died.
Nimoy died Friday of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at his Los Angeles home, said his son, Adam Nimoy. He was 83.
A recent income study of counties in each state determined that Saline County holds the distinction of being the richest county in Arkansas.
Each state's top county in the study is identified by a photo of a significant site along with pertinent facts. In Saline County's case, a photo of the courthouse is included with the information.
That study by 24/7 Wall St. determined that the county's median household income is $55,348 while the state's median household income is $40,768.
After hearing opinions from residents and business owners for and against a proposed south route in Bryant, the city council approved an resolution allowing Mayor Jill Dabbs to begin speaking with property owners about right-of-way on three possible routes.
Three aldermen voted against the resolution and Alderman Rob Roedel was absent during the meeting. To break the tie Dabbs voted in favor of the resolution.

Four ribbon cuttings to be hosted by the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce set for Thursday have been cancelled due to weather conditions, according to Rae Ann Fields, executive director of the chamber.
The cuttings will be rescheduled at a later date, she added.
