From Aug. 15 through Sept. 1, the Arkansas State Police and the Benton Police Department will be cracking down on drunk drivers.
This crackdown is part of the nationwide campaign "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."
In 2012, approximately 10,300 were killed in drunk-driving crashes and during Labor Day weekend almost 40 percent of all traffic fatalities involved drunk driving, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Benton Police Department
â€¢A warrant is being sought for Joshua Wilson of Benton for commercial burglary at Walmart.
â€¢Kaci Hattabaugh of Benton was cited for animal cruelty at Walmart after leaving a dog unattended in a car.
â€¢A woman on Maple Street was transported to Saline Memorial Hospital after intentionally cutting herself on the leg.
â€¢A man on Ridge Drive reported he was receiving harassing text messages.
â€¢A woman reported a hit and run accident at Saline Memorial Hospital.
â€¢A man reported a woman stole his cell phone from his residence on South Neeley Street.
Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs released the following statement this morning regarding a recently completed audit of Bryant:
Legislative Audit Report for the City of Bryant has been released. Â I am pleased to announce the City of Bryant had a satisfactory audit with only a few areas of recommended improvements.
As stated in the audit report their procedures indicated that the Offices of the Mayor and the City Clerk were in substantial compliance with Arkansas fiscal and financial laws.
