The popular seasonal production, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," will be the Royal Players' holiday offering for the area theater population.
The play was written by Barbara Robinson and adapted from the bestselling childrenâ€™s novel.
Show dates at the historic Royal Theatre in Downtown Benton are Dec. 4-7 and 11-14.
Director is Hillary Bell, assisted by Angel Choir directors Lynda Hollenbeck and Daphne Shoppach.
The Benton City Council unanimously approved a $5,000 pay increase for Mayor David Mattingly during Tuesdayâ€™s meeting at Benton Municipal Complex.
The city's 2014 budget appropriated an additional sum to compensate the mayor for the calendar year, but the salary increase has not been paid to him.
It is the intention of the council to adjust the salary to pay those sums that already have been appropriated and to make the the position more competitive.
Alderman Kerry Murphy said he wants the public to know that he approves of the pay increase.
