In aftermath of tornado destruction, beware of fly-by-night contractors

April 29, 2014 – The Home Builders Association of Greater Little Rock warns Arkansans of the threat of Fly-By-Night Contractors. Following disasters such as tornadoes, one of the untold costs are those associated with fraud. Often “fly-by-night” contractors appear in communities right after a disaster and further victimize the homeowners by swindling them out of their limited resources by offering cheap and quick repair work. Here’s a warning that may save you from another disaster: fly-by-night contractors.

Current Bauxite superintendent to become Sheridan superintendent

Jerrod Williams, who announced his plans to leave employment with the Bauxite School District on April 25, has been selected as the new superintendent of the Sheridan School District.
Officials of the Sheridan District announced that Williams will begin his duties July 1.
Williams was selected from a pool that included two other finalists, Dr. John Buchanan and Andrew Curry.
District officials utilized a search committee to select the new administrator, who will succeed Dr. Brenda Haynes.
Haynes announced her retirement on Dec. 9, 2013.

According to Arkansas State Police, Stephen Colebank, 64, of Bryant was killed in a single-vehicle accident near the 115 mile marker of Interstate 30 in Benton on Monday. More information will be available in Tuesday's issue of The Saline Courier.
