The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Public Safety is encouraging students to turn their phones into personal safety devices this week by downloading the free app UALR Guardian.
According to UALR officials, "Much like a guardian who provides protection, the app helps a student to check in with family, friends, the public safety department, or others, to ensure he or she is safe on campus."
More info can be found in today's issue of The Saline Courier.
Benton Public Schools recently hosted a trip to Little Rock for elementary, junior high and high school students to give the students the opportunity to attend Thea Paves the Way, a sidewalk chalk festival held annually in September on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Library.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Funeral services have been set for an Arkansas real estate agent who was found dead five days after she never returned from an appointment to show a house.
Crye-Leike (lyke) Realtors says the funeral for Beverly Carter will be held Saturday morning at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock. The real estate company says Carter was the firm's top listing agent and that she had "an infectious laugh that brightened the whole office."
Crye-Leike says visitation for Carter will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
