Man dies after falling from bucket truck

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a man died after falling over 30 feet from a bucket truck while removing a tree on a residential property in Alexander.

Officers responded to a home located in the 1700 block of Wildwood Court, where Shelby Jackson, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Election Day: Residents to decide fate of millage increase

Today is the last day for voting in an election for a proposal millage increase for Bryant School District.

The current millage rate for the Bryant School District is 37.2 mills. Officials are proposing an increase of 4.9 mills.

Bryant chain applies for beer permit

Moe's Southwest Grill, located at 7409 Alcoa Road in Bryant, applied for a beer permit last week according to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division of the state Department of Finance and Administration.

The business applied for a Retail Beer On Premise permit, which authorizes the sale of beer or malt liquor for consumption on the premises.
