Department splitting on council agenda

The Benton City Council will meet tonight to discuss topics ranging from splitting the Department of Community Services and Department of Economic Development to applying for a grant that would add additional firefighters to the city’s fire department.

Bryant Parks Committee to meet today

March 9, 2015

The Bryant Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 6 p.m. today at City Hall.

According to the agenda, the committee will discuss alcohol permits in the park, employee positions, the 2015 Easter Egg Hunt, a Bryant prom after party, installing security cameras and the 2015 Arbor Day.

Today is last day for early voting

March 9, 2015

Today is the last day of early voting during the Bryant School District election for a proposal millage increase.

The “vote here” building is the only site that is open. Residents can vote from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The current millage rate for the Bryant School District is 37.2 mills. Officials are proposing an increase of 4.9 mills.
