Common Sense: Stuckey's was a welcomed sight to travelers

If you want a really good look at the town of Benton, I suggest you go to the Big Red just off exit 114 and buy some gas. That’s what I did and I am telling you, the view is fantastic.
As I stood there filling the tank, I could see all the way up Interstate 30 into the city limits. The tops of the trees put down a carpet of green from one side of the horizon to the other. The steeple of the First United Methodist Church pointed skyward and right next to it, the Saline County Courthouse could be seen.

President Obama’s health care reform effort plan had some good things in it, and some bad things in it. We’re already seeing the good parts of it – like the elimination of waiting periods and lifetime benefit caps – and it’s making a profound difference at street level.

Common Sense: Humor can be found everywhere

Finding humor in situations that aren’t necessarily meant to induce laughter often times will bring forth heartfelt chuckles. This is not a task easily mastered. An individual must first possess a sense of humor slightly off center.
It is a skill that can be nurtured, but is most effective when it is gifted by heredity.
I do my best to hone this skill, but it is a work in progress. There have been several instances lately where practice has resulted in at least a giggle for me.
