Ula Jean (Turner) Griffin, 73, of the Shaw Community, passed away Wednesday, April 4, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born April 20, 1938 in England to the late T.J. and Verda Ann Turner. She was a homemaker and loved to hunt and raise chickens. She was of Missionary Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Walter Wayne Griffin; two grandsons, Chris Lewis and Walter Ammons; two sisters, Irma Gregg and Vetola Stergeon, and four brothers.Â
Randy Michael Wootten, 46, of Batesville entered heaven after a courageous battle with lung cancer, quietly with family at his home, on Monday, April 2. He was born August 29, 1966 in Torrance, Calif. to Jerry and Wanda Wooten.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Jerry C. Wootten on Benton.
Morgan L. Hodkin, 91, of Benton went home to be with the Lord on April 4. He was born Oct. 13, 1920 to the late Bill and Grace Hodkin of Carthage, Mo. Mr. Hodkin was a deacon for more than 60 years a member of Holland Chapel Church. Morgan was the mechanical engineer director of the physical plant at UAMS for 26 years.
After he retired from UAMS in 1975, he was the field director with Carter, Chilcoat Icobaum Rouse and Walker.Â
Mary McRee Mitchell, 67, of Alexander, passed away Monday, April 2. She was born May 9, 1944 in Little Rock. Mrs. Mitchell was a retired L.P.N. and a strong advocate for helping local nursing homes. She was a passionate Arkansas Razorback fan.Â
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Helene Blakley and her husband, Phillip Charles Mitchell.
