May 11th
Herman L. Wood, 90, of Little Rock, was called to his Heavenly home on May 9. He was born in Bismarck on October 11, 1921. He was a World War II Navy Seabees veteran. He was a welder and iron worker by trade and a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lucy Wood; three brothers, Earl, Hershel and Pete Wood; sister, Pauline Chapman and grandson, Ricky Bruck.
Terry L. Gilbert, 50, of Benton passed away Monday, May 7, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born on September 25, 1961 in Owsago, New York to the late Louis F. Gilbert and Joyce E. (Trumble) Gilbert. He loved wood crafting, hunting, and fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carla Walker.
On Friday, May 4, 2012, David Conway Rawlings of Benton, our beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle and friend made his journey to be with our Almighty Father and Savior. We will remember a wonderful man with a heart for helping everyone he met.
David is preceded in death by his father, Conway Rawlings.
Jodi Michelle Carter, 44, of Benton was born in De Witt on October 21, 1967 and entered her heavenly rest on May 6. At the time of her death Jodi was employed by First Collection Services in Mablevale. Her life was devoted to her family and the great love that was shared with all. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Jodi was predeceased by her grandparents, Eugene Statler and Ted and Sylvia Carter.
Delores J. (Carlton) Poe, 62, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, May 5. Delores worked at Baptist Health and UAMS in Little Rock for a combined 30 years as a nurse. The majority of her career she worked in the newborn nursery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C. L. and Betty Carlton of Little Rock.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Diann and James Bridges; her niece Rebecca Louden and husband, Anthony, and their son A.J., all of Sherwood. Delores is also survived by numerous close friends and former co-workers in the medical field.

John Douglas Willis, 67, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, formally of Benton, passed away Wednesday, May 2, at the Durham VA Medical Center. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1945 to Winfred and Margie Lovell Willis. John was a veteran of the United States Army and Vietnam War; 18 year employee of Aloca, Benton; Wrenn Handling, Fayetteville, North Carolina and his most loved job, a Baptist Minister for years.
John was preceded in death by his father, WR “Boogle” Willis, brother in laws, Kenneth Murders and Larry Parker, and two granddaughters, Virginia and Elizabeth.
Dr. Carl F. Matlock, 76, of Benton passed away May 4, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born July 23, 1935 in Bismarck to the late Howard F.
Dr. Ed Hollenbeck of Benton, a retired Cumberland Presbyterian minister and a former executive director for the Benton Public Housing Authority, died Friday, May 4, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. He was 82.
Dr. Hollenbeck served pastorates at numerous Cumberland Presbyterian and United Methodist churches in Arkansas. His most recent pastorate was at the Cumberland Presbyterian Fellowship, located in Bryant, where he continued to be active as long as his health permitted.
Ronald Wayne Havniear, 51, of Traskwood found eternal peace on Friday, May 4. He was born on May 2, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas to James and Lois Havniear.
Ron was a Master Carpenter in Residential Construction whom took great pride in his craftsmanship. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, was an avid collector, but mostly, spending time with his wife, children, family and friends.
Rodger DeWayne McCallister, age 70, of Benton, passed away Fri., May 4, 2012. He was born Aug. 15, 1941 in England, Arkansas to the late Sylvester McCallister and Eula Marie Dardenne McCallister. He retired from Alcoa after 30 years and was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther McCallister and Edward McCallister, one sister, Lenora Allen, and three nephews, Marvin Darrell McCallister, Eddie Garner and Jonathan Garner.
