Marlin Ray Wright, 67, of Cabot passed away Tuesday, July 24.Â He was born April 7, 1945 in Bauxite.
Ray was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired Arkansas State Police trooper.Â He was a member of the Arkansas Retired State Police Association and quietly donated to several charities.Â
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Bertha Wright; two brothers, Joe Wayne and Ralph Wright; and three sisters, Shirley Bradley, Billie June Horvath and Juanita Jacobs.
Frankie Mae Calvin, 75, of Benton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 19. Frankie was born to Joel White Sr and Christine Sanders White in Grady. She retired from ALCOA after working there for more than 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Calvin Sr.; an infant son, Lawrence Calvin; her stepmother, Alma White; and her sister, Haydena Smith.
Norma McAdory Girner, 90, of Benton passed away Tuesday, July 24. She was born March, 7, 1922, in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Dave and Lilly B. Harris.
She was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church for 44 years, where at one time she served as church secretary.
In earlier years she was an active member and supporter of the Saline County Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Robert McAdory Sr.; her second husband, John Girner; a son, Richard "Rick" McAdory; and two siblings.
Charles Andrew â€śAndyâ€ť Curtis, 95 of Bryant, passed away July 22 at the home of his son, the late Charles Jeffrey â€śJeffâ€ť Curtis and daughter-in-law, Sondra Haile Curtis.
Born Sept. 3, 1916, to John Anderson and Jeffie Howard Curtis in Paron, Andy was one of nine children, all of whom are deceased. The siblings included Eunice Jackson; Allen, Don, Ed and Kelso Curtis; Rosa Lee Rickard; and Ellene Lancaster. He married Jimmye Raye Ramsey Curtis in 1944 and they had one son, Charles Jeffrey.
James Arlin Craig Jr., 65, of Little Rock, passed away on July 23, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Feb. 10, 1947, to Arlin and Evelyn Craig, who preceded him in death. Jim managed his family business, Red Gate Liquor, which was established in 1951, then succeeded his father as owner. Through his tireless work and dedication, it expanded to a new facility in 1991 and grew into the flourishing business it is today. The success of the business was due to Jimâ€™s dedication to his loyal customers.
Jerry Lynn Thomason, 65, of Traskwood passed away on July 22, with his family by his side.Â
Jerry was born on May 18, 1947 to Cleo and Mary Thomason in Benton.Â He was very outgoing and loved putting his cars in antique car shows, fishing, playing music and shooting guns.Â Jerry retired from Benton Service Center after 17 years as a fireman.Â His favorite times were spent with his family and friends. He was of Baptist faith.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Cleo Thomason; grandson, Patrick Hilborn and grandmother, Willie B. Smith.
Emma D. Sheridan, 80, of Beebe died Sunday, July 22, at her home. She was born April 25, 1932 in Sheridan. Emma was a retired supervisor for a hand bag company and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Grace Adams Hunter, brother, Elmer Hunter and sisters, Georgia and Wanda Lou.Â
