Irene Blenkinsopp Sanford

Irene Blenkinsopp Sanford, 84, of Avilla went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
She was born April 14, 1928, in Bigelow on Wye Mountain to the late Joseph Blenkinsopp and Merial DeRossi.
She was a nurse, a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.  She loved tending to her flower garden and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Sanford; an infant daughter, Rebecca Sanford; one brother, Richard Blenkinsopp; and one half-sister, Mary Roy.

Matt Carter

Matt Carter, 29, of Alexander went to be with our Lord and Savior Sept. 22.  He was born July 19, 1983, to Edward Carter and Debra Duran in Benton.  Matt was a loving father, son and brother, who loved living his life to the fullest; he loved hunting, fishing, going to the lake and riding a 4-wheeler.  He was the owner and operator of County Line Pawn Shop.  Matt spent his final days surrounded by his family and his beautiful daughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Ocie Duran and Lewis Merlin Carter.

Floyd Dale Keisler

Floyd Dale Keisler, 75, was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Leola to the late Martin Ongelo Keisler and Lena Williams Keisler. The Lord called him home to heaven Sept. 24 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
Floyd loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian and a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church.
He attended Leola, White Hall and Pine Bluff schools.  He served in the Arkansas National Guard from Feb. 28, 1955, through Feb. 26, 1957. 

Dorothy Mae Sheridan

Dorothy Mae Sheridan, 83, of Mabelvale passed away peacefully on Sept. 24 at Ridgewood Health and Rehab in Benton.
Dorothy was born in Sardis on Jan. 12, 1929, to the late Lon and Rosa Whittenberg Jackson.
She was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and in later years was a caregiver to many.  She liked to fish and spend time working in the garden.  She babysat for many children and made many friends doing her yard sales that she loved so much.

Bettye Lou Wade

Bettye Lou Wade, 68 of Mabelvale, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, in Little Rock.
She was born July 25, 1944, in Morton to the late John and Mary (Cain) Smith. Bettye was a generous, loving woman who lived a full life. She got no greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She was at every ball game and event they were involved in. Her passion was taking care of her family and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Warren Steward Smith

Warren Steward Smith, 94, of Haskell, passed from this life on Sunday, September 23.  He was born April 2, 1918 at Haskell to the late Henry Steward and Maude Belle Cornett Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and a beloved member and life-long resident of the Haskell community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who loved spending time with his family and friends. Warren will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

JoAnn Payne

JoAnn Payne, 70, formerly of Benton, died Saturday, Sept. 22. JoAnn was a native of Mobile County, Ala., and a longtime resident of Satsuma, Ala.
JoAnn lived in Benton for 10 years and worked in the purchasing department of Alcoa. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by son, David; her father, Jasper Gleason; her mother, Evelyn Jackson; and stepfather, Jesse Jackson.

Elizabeth Ann Hill

Elizabeth Ann Hill died at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant on Sept. 20.
She was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Coldwater, Miss.
She was an active member of the Elaine community for decades.
She was also an active member of the Elaine United Methodist Church.  She was known for her kindness and her beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William K. Hill of Cleveland, Miss., and her only brother, John R. Turley of Coldwater, Miss. 

Georgiana O. Medal

Georgiana O. Medal, 92, of Benton passed away Saturday, Sept. 22.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George H. Medal; three sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Medal is survived by her loving daughters, Andrea Price and husband Gary and Sharon Kemp and husband Gus; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Simunek; and many family members and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Keith Alan Goeman Sr.,

Keith Alan Goeman Sr., 48, of Little Rock, died Thursday, September 20, due to a car wreck in New Iberia, Louisiana.  He was a self-employed truck driver, an avid mud racer and of the Baptist faith.  Keith was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Goeman; grandmother, Minnie Spears and a mother-in-law, Sharon Covert.
