Kelly Ashcraft Cunningham, 49, of Benton passed away Sunday, Dec. 23.Â She was born Jan. 19, 1963, in Little Rock to Norman and Gayle Ashcraft.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gayle Blue Ashcraft.
She is survived by her husband, David Cunningham of Benton; daughters, Karissa McDaniel of Alexander, Kristin McDaniel of Alexander and Shannon Calhoun of Benton; brothers, Tracy Ashcraft of Bryant, Marten Ashcraft of Haskell and John Ashcraft of South Carolina; grandchildren, Wesley H. Stricklin, Parker H. Stricklin, Lexie Calhoun and Joely D. Calhoun.
Senior Master Sgt. Richard Allen Patterson "Sgt. Patt," 71, of Bryant passed away Dec. 25, with his family by his side.Â He had a very distinguished military career of 28 years in the Air Force and saw tours of duty in Thailand, Korea and England. It was in Norwich, England where he met his future wife Linda Crome. She was the love of his life, and her family welcomed the "Yank" into their home with open arms. Many a weekend in the 1970s was spent in the Tuckswood Pub in Norwich with brothers-in-law John, Tony, David and Bernard.
Zona Belle Grant, 82, of Benton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26.Â She was born March 8, 1930, in Russellville.Â Mrs. Grant was a homemaker. She loved flowers and attended Gateway Church in Little Rock.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garcy and Nola Jordan; husband Homer Grant; and two brothers, Eugene and Curt Jordan.
She is survived by her sister, Wanda Raper of Paron; brother Quinton Jordan of Boothwin, Pa.; half-brother Gary Don Jordan of Hector; three nieces; one nephew; and several cousins.
Kathryn Guenter Nix, 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas Eve, surrounded by her family, after a valiant battle with cancer. Kathy was born August 15, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN, to a DuPont engineer and a nurse. The family moved to Niagara Falls, N.Y. shortly thereafter. In 1972 she earned a degree in Home Economics from Bowling Green State University and began working for Gerbers department store in Memphis, Tenn. before transferring to Little Rock. While working as a buyer for M. M.
Olin O. (Fritz) Hester, 89, of Alexander, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23.
He was born August 28, 1923 in Benton.Â
Mr. Hester was a U.S. Army Veteran, a mechanic and a member of Springhill Baptist Church for 74 years.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Josie B. Hester; wife, Bertha (Midge) Hester; and a son, Ronald Gene Hester.
Coyce Boone, 77, of Bryant, passed peacefully into the care of his heavenly Father on Friday, December 21.
He was born on November 3, 1935 to Frank and Maudie Boone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Billy Campbell Boone; brother-in-law James Adams; sister-in-law Edna Lee Boone; niece Leslie Miller; and father and mother-in-law Harold and Melba Jones.
Jennifer â€śLeaâ€ť Darnell Ellingston, age 39, of Benton, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was born August 10, 1973 in Little Rock to Mike Darnell and Debbie Littlejohn. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Benton. Before becoming fully disabled, Lea worked as a certified nursing assistant.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Evalyn Littlejohn, and grandfather, Roger Darnell.
Katherine Deloris Stone, 77 of Camden, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born March 1, 1935, to Bryan and Lois Parson Baxley in Bauxite.
She was a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church, Camden Flower Club, Hospital Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Carl Baxley.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Stone; a son, David Stone both of Camden; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Stone and Lauren Stone, both of Royal; and two sisters, Margaret Rainey of El Dorado and Martha Crouse of Sheridan.
Mary Caple Glenn, 69, of Little Rock, formerly of Benton, passed away Dec. 19. She was born June 6, 1943, in Benton to the late Raymond Hughes Sr. and Helen Franks Hughes.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Ervin Hughes; three sisters, Francis Wilkerson, Reba Gay and Theresa Mize; and a daughter, Rebecca Caple.
Lula Mae Miller, 76, of Benton died Friday, Dec. 21. She was born Jan. 12, 1936 in Abilene, Texas, to Floyd and Nollie Seth Willis. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Abilene High and attended Abilene Christian College. While living in Alaska, she worked as a Tupperware manager and a substitute teacher. She retired from Arkansas State Revenue Central Office in Little Rock. In November 1956, Lula married the love of her life, Thomas Edison Miller Jr. Lula is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Newton, of Abilene, Texas.
