Owen Milton Rylie, 53, of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013.Â
He was born Sept. 24, 1960, in Benton. Mr. Rylie was a roofer and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Lewis Rylie and Ruby Lee Rylie; his sisters, Betty Sanders and Carolyn Rylie; and his brother, Archie Rylie.
Sarah Gray Bernhard Pittman, 80, of Wills Point, Texas, formerly of Greenwood, Miss., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.
She was born June 7, 1933, to Allen Christopher Bernhard and Hilda Hammett Bernhard in Lexington, Miss. She had a wonderful childhood with her family in Greenwood, as well as with her extended family from Lexington.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1951, attended Millsaps College, and then became a stewardess with American Airlines, based in Dallas, Texas.
Jebby Wayne Abbott, 56, passed away Oct. 25, 2013. Jebby was born April 5, 1957, in Little Rock.
Jebby was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia â€śAnnâ€ť Abbott.
Jerry Earl Welton of Benton went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the age of 79.
He was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Pottsville.
God gifted him with strength of character and a personality that drew love as well as admiration of all whose lives he touched. Through Jerryâ€™s work in church, schools, the Gideons and his lifelong profession in the car business, he left the testimony of his faith on many.
William Richard "Dick" Craft, age 79, of Bryant went to be with the Lord on Oct. 25, 2013, after a 28-year battle with Parkinsonâ€™s disease.
He was born June 22, 1934, in Southland, Texas. Richard served in the U.S. Army, Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force.Â
He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Dick was employed as a customer engineer for 30 years with IBM.
Nellie D. Fletcher, 93, of Benton died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.Â She was born Dec. 24, 1920, in McCool, Miss., to the late Samuel Jefferson Blaine and Fannie Elizabeth Vanlandingham Blaine.Â Nellie worked as an LPTN at the Benton Services Center and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Fletcher; one brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include her son, Sammy Thweatt and wife Pat of Benton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
James T. "Jim" Johnson, 86, of Shannon Hills died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.
He was born June 17, 1927, in Hickman County, Kentucky, to the late Carlos Dewey Johnson and Annie Lee Hicks Johnson.
Jim was a real estate appraiser and a veteran of the U.S. Army.Â He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a former member of Rose City Cumberland Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock.
Mr. Johnson was a charter member of the Kentucky Farmhouse Fraternity at the University of Kentucky.
Junie Lee (Statler) Arquette, 80, of Jonesboro. formerly of Salinas, California passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, in Malvern. She was born June 15, 1933, in Missouri to the late Roscoe Statler and Lottie Bell Casey Statler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Arquette, sons, Stanley Ivy, Daniel A Roberts, and brother E.C. Statler of Haskell.
She is survived by sons, Ronnie Ivy of Hensley, Richard Ivy of Jonesboro, and Elbert Donald (Gish) Ivy of Benton; one daughter, Cindy Lee, of California;
Mary Jane Pitts went home to be with her Lord on October 23, 2013. She was born on December 20, 1939 to the late, Elborn and Elsie Smith in Grubbs.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Hollabaugh and husband Bobby of Amarillo, Texas and Gloria Schember and husband Joe of Ft. Collins; son, Donnie Huskey and wife Linda of Bauxite; grandchildren, Michelle Huskey, Clint Bryant and Nichole Schember and four great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Lawrence and Beverly Bell; brother, Millard Smith and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
Johnny Tanner, 75, of Benton died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.Â He was born Dec. 30, 1937Â in Little Rock to the late James Henry and Ethel Mae Thompson Tanner and was a resident at Arkansas Health Center in Haskell..
