William Michael May, 56, of Benton passed away Oct. 24, 2013.Â He was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Levelland, Texas, to the late William Dewey and Margaret Sims May.
William was a graduate of Magnet Cove High School, a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a member of the Democratic Party.Â He worked as a dock loader at Levi Straus Co.
He is survived by wife, Anita May; a son, James May and wife Tara of Lahoma, Okla.; a grandson, Laikin May; a brother, Steven May; and a sister, Lisa Maynard.
Mary Mildred Huff Eubanks, 90, of Benton passed away Oct. 23, 2013, at Southern Trace Rehab and Nursing with her daughter and grandchildren by her side.Â She was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Visalia, Calif.Â
Mary worked and retired from Colonial Bakery and was of the Baptist faith.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mamie Huff of Visalia, Calif.; her husband, Leon Eubanks; and five children, Momi Eubanks, Bubba Eubanks, Roger Eubanks, William "Skip" Huff and David Eubanks; six half-sisters and one half-brother.
Ernest Campbell, 84, of Benton passed away on Oct. 23, 2013, with his family by his side.Â He was born Nov. 23, 1929, to the late James and Sylvia Campbell in Lonoke.
Ernest served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was proud to be a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Campbell, and a grandson, Joshua Wright.
Kenneth Jason Boyette, 39, of Benton passed away Oct. 22, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1974, in Benton.
Jason worked for UPS for 10 years and was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church and belonged to many pool leagues.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean Thornberry Boyette; his grandparents, Shirley and Don Boyette; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Thornberry.
He is survived by his father, Kenneth Boyette of Benton; his brother, Matthew Boyette of Benton; his grandfather, Eugene Thornberry of Rison.
Ernie D. Gibson, 90, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Oct. 21, 2013.Â He was doing what he loved â€” working in his garden.Â
Ernie was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Jonesboro to the late John and Bertha Lawson Gibson. He was retired from Alcoa and had been a faithful member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church since 1950.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Jean Gibson; and his brother, J.W. Gibson.
Freddie Geneta Kirkpatrick Cash, 81, of Benton departed this earth for her eternal home in heaven on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.
She delighted in her work as admissions representative at Baptist Medical Center for almost 20 years.Â
William Jerry Manley, 69, of Alexander passed away on Oct. 19, 2013. He was born Sept. 4, 1944, to the late, William Gilbert â€śGWâ€ť and Ruby Page Manley in Little Rock.
Jerry enjoyed collecting antiques and playing the guitar and harmonica, and he loved all animals. He was a Mason and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice.
Arch Griffin Sr., 76, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.Â He was born Jan. 2, 1937 in Sherrill.Â Mr. Griffin served in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Edsil Griffin Sr.; and a brother, Ben Johnson.
Doug Davis, 51, of Conway went to be with his Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. He was born Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1962 in El Dorado, to Jim R. Davis and Gloria (Pyle) Wisdom.
Doug was a good father, faithful and loyal husband, who was strong, independent, loved the Lord, and cared for his family. He was hard-working and "bullet proof."
Clyde Kelley Scott Sr., 82, of Benton, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.Â He was born Oct. 11, 1931 in Benton.Â
Mr. Scott graduated from Benton High School in 1950 and went on to serve in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America: He served as a Scout Master for Troop 33 in Benton. In 1964, he attended the National Jamboree in Valley Forge, Pa.; In 1965 and 1972 he attended the Philmont Scout Ranch; in 1969, he attended the National Jamboree in Farragut State Park, Idaho; and in 1973 he was a Silver Beaver recipient.
