Kenneth Holdman, born Jan. 22, 1938, of Benton, went to be with our dearly beloved father in Heaven on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6:15 a.m., having reached his 75th birthday.Â Both Ken and his wife are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Benton.
Ken was an avid golfer and a devoted father, husband and grandfather and his spirit will be celebrated in Heaven as well as on Earth.Â He finished out his final round of golf having set the standard for all those who follow in his footsteps.Â Â
Janie Nanette Goodman, 56, of Benton passed away Monday, Jan. 21, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.Â She was born July 9, 1956, in Benton to the late Oscar Truman â€śSlimâ€ť Wilson and Jo Renee Wilson Kennemur.
â€śNanâ€ť graduated from Benton High School in 1974 and was of the Baptist faith.Â She loved gardening, crystal hunting and trips to the lake and ocean.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Truman â€śBusterâ€ť Wilson; one sister, Wanda Kay Wilson; her mother-in-law, Sara Goodman; one sister-in-law, Susan Berk; and one nephew, Blake Taylor.
Emma Lorene Clardy, 1-day-old daughter of Heath and Hannah Wiley Clardy of Glen Rose, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.Â She was born Jan. 16 in Little Rock.Â
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Heath and Hannah Clardy; sister Ellie Faye Clardy; grandparents William and Ginger Wiley and Mervin and Betty Clardy; great-grandmother Opal Faye Clark; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mary Mildred Barnes, 93, of Bauxite passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, at Saline Memorial Hospital.Â She was born Jan. 12, 1920 in Mercer County, Pa., to the late Charles and Pearl (Small) Williamson.Â Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sardis.Â Mrs. Barnes was a very loving mother.Â She loved reading her Bible and loved all of her grandchildren very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Barnes, two sisters, and one brother.Â
Troyce Thelbert Halpain went to be with the Lord on Jan. 19. He was born to Callie and Homer Halpain on Nov. 5, 1931, and raised by Prudy and William Hall. He attended Collegeville Church of the Nazarene on Hilldale Road. He was deeply loved by his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Except for God and family, his first love was his music. He loved to play and listen to his children sing. He worked hard and gave 100 percent at every job and everything he did. We were so blessed to have had him in our lives.
Dora Elsie Woods, 85, of Bryant passed away Friday, Jan. 18. She was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Chesham, England. Dora was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Victor Gunnell and Chequers Yard Gunnell; and her husband, William Wesley (Bill) Wood.
She is survived by her son, William V. Woods and wife Deleta of Bryant; three grandchildren, Kenneth Byrd and wife Sherrie of Palacious, Texas, Keith Byrd and wife Danna of Bryant, and Kevin Byrd and wife Lisa of Texas.
A graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Pinecrest Cemetery.Â
Dr. Roger Keith Hairston, 53, of Texarkana, passed away Thursday, January 17.Â He was born April 22, 1959 in Little Rock to Dwain and Helen Hairston of Benton.Â He graduated from Benton High School and then served in the United States Air Force.Â Roger then attended U.A.L.R. and U.A.M.S., where he received a Doctor of Medicine Degree and interned in Pathology.
William Hueitt â€śBillâ€ť Black, 66, of Benton went home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, January 18. He was born October 17, 1946 in Little Rock to Hueitt and Annabel Black. Bill was retired from Alcoa and spent his time helping out and playing golf at Longhills Golf Course in Benton. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hueitt and Annabel Black and his daughter, Lorie Lynn Black.
Henry â€śFrogâ€ť Floyd Tackett Sr., 68 of Alexander went to be with the Lord on January 17. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles D. and Ethal M. Tackett Harrison, and his daughter; Ethal M. Tackett.
Terry Fay Russell, 60 of Alexander, passed away on Jan. 16, 2013.
He loved fishing and old classic cars. He was a loving man who loved his wife and had a love for all children. He was a father to many, loved to play pranks, was always joking and always shared love with everyone he met. He was a God-fearing Christian man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erple and Willie Russell; and his brother, Perry Russell.
