Helen Lorene Tarry Pettit Comer

Helen Lorene Tarry Pettit Comer, born June 6, 1927, died Feb. 5, at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle.
She was of the Pentecostal faith, attended Solid Rock Pentecostal Church (Pastor Elton Lambert of Alexander). 
Ms. Comer was owner and administrator of Comer Nursing Home in Carlisle from 1961 to February 1992.  She was loved by the many residents and family members throughout those many years.
Helen loved the work she was doing and the people she helped. 
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Bill Comer and Dalton Pettit; her parents, F.W. and Mae Tarry; a grandson, Richey Brown.

William Raymond Bunch

William Raymond Bunch, 73, of Benton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4. He was born in Little Rock on March 3, 1939, to Jacob Bunch and Leona Bunch. William was the oldest of four children.
He married Shirl Bunch in Little Rock on May 19, 1962. They had four children.
He was employed by Allied Arkansas and Bearings and Drives as a purchasing agent for 35 years. William was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, classic cars and showing his prize cars. His greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his daughters and granddaughters.

Loeta Irene Terry

Loeta Irene Terry, 91, of Conroe went to be with her Lord Friday, Feb. 1. She was born June 22, 1921 in Bonnerdale to Ellis and Ida Mae Norman.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harvey Hawthorne, and Harold Terry.

Guy Walter Bass

Guy Walter Bass went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 5.  He was born March 5, 1938 in West Monroe, La., and spent his early years in Bauxite and Benton. 
He could fix anything, especially computers, and worked 20 years for IBM, 18 years for Amdahl Corp., and five years for Storage Tek. Guy was proud to hold a degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister in 1979.  He was a faithful servant of God who served as a pastor, bivocational pastor and Sunday School teacher, and was a member of The Gideons International organization.

Harold Wayne Beaty

Harold Wayne Beaty, 74, a lifetime resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5. 
He was an elder at First Christian Church of Benton, a Navy veteran and a retired pipefitter from Alcoa.
Harold was a charter member of the Benton chapter of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS) Club.
He graduated from Benton High School in 1956 and won numerous awards for playing football and running track. He earned the nickname “Bull” from his high school teammates because of his size and speed.
