Robert Henry Bell

Robert Henry Bell, 82, of Benton died Monday, Feb. 25. He was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Warner, Okla., to the late Ross Henry and Vera Duvall Bell. 
Mr. Bell had retired from Alcoa after working 40 years and was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and a Mason with the Congo Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane (Scott) Bell, and one brother, Wayne Bell.

Joseph A. Gonsalves

Joseph A. Gonsalves' journey through life came to an end on Feb. 16. He was 48 and of Benton..
He was born March 19, 1964. He attended John Glenn High School and later earned his diploma in San Diego. He had a passion for fishing, and he loved being a carpenter and roofer. He loved being a father, and he cherished his family and friends. His ability to see a silver lining in everything will be missed.

Porter Everette Tully

Porter Everette Tully, 67, of Benton passed away Saturday, Feb. 23. He was born Aug. 12, 1945, in Monticello. Porter was retired from General Electric, served in the U.S. Navy and was a member and deacon of East Side Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Annie Tully; a brother John Tully, Jr.; and a sister, Scharlene Cornett.

Harry R. Butzlaff

Harry R. Butzlaff, 88,  of Bryant went to be with his Lord on Feb. 23. Harry was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Harry and Clara Butzlaff. He was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a chemical engineering degree. He retired in 1989 as manager of quality/process control from A. O.

Louis A. “Lou” Cyr,

Louis A. “Lou” Cyr, of Benton born Oct. 2, 1928, in Pittsfield, Mass., passed away on Feb. 23, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army, and after leaving the service, he worked for Western Electric Company as an engineer. He was involved in the early years of the ICBM Program at Bell Laboratories. He was a Boy Scouts leader and commissioner in the organization. He enjoyed camping with his children and the beautiful sites in the U.S.

Dwight Still

Dwight Still, 62, of Bryant, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013. He was born July 9, 1950. Dwight worked for Pfizer and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryant. He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Still and two grandchildren, Lillian and Waylon Still.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Still of Bryant; two sons, Chris Still and wife Brandy of Bryant and Jeremy Still of Little Rock; mother, Minnie Still of Manila; brother, Randy Still of Paragould; two grandchildren, Samantha and Hannah Still; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Angela Allison Scarbrough

Angela Allison Scarbrough, 26 of Benton, died Friday, Feb. 22. Angela was born April 15, 1986 in Norman, OK to Randy Scarbrough and Judy Callaghan Scarbrough. Angela was a graduate of Norman High North and of UALR. She served as a liaison to the Navy for Hewlett Packard before deciding to pursue work with the love of her life, race horses, in Kentucky. She was currently working as a waitress at West End in Little Rock and as a veterinary assistant at Springhill Animal Clinic in Bryant.
She is preceded in death by grandmother Vera Callaghan and grandfather Bobby Scarbrough.

Daphne M. 'Jean' Nissen

Daphne M. "Jean" Nissen, 88, of Bryant passed away Thursday, Feb. 14.  She was born Feb. 10, 1925 in Sydney, Australia. 
Mrs. Nissen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ellen Rice; her husband, Orval Eric “Bud” Nissen; and a daughter, Daphne Pearl Tudor.
She is survived by her son, Gary Nissen of Marshfield, Mo.; a daughter, Sue Lawson of Bryant; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 23, at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.

Russell Hoover

Russell Hoover, 65, of Bryant lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Feb. 16. He fought a valiant battle that he just could not win. He was born May 21, 1947, in Falmouth, Ky., to the late Leonard and Nancy Hoover. Russell was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.

Ronnie Gay Wright

Ronnie Gay Wright, 40, of Benton, passed away Feb. 19. She was born May 10, 1972 in Little Rock, to K. Allen and Carla Marine Wright.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Wright and sister Keatha Wright.
She is survived by her daughters, Haley Addie Easter and husband Chris, Holly Hernandez and husband Elias and Heidi Addie; sister Torie S. Holt; brother Russell Wright; grandson Christopher Ryan Easter Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A chapel service by Ashby Funeral Home will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, with burial to follow at Hicks Cemetery.
