Avis Orvetta Stickley, 87, of Lonsdale passed away on March 5 at her home. She was born June 23, 1925 in Decatur, Iowa. Orvetta was a retired seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Nellie Reed Grimm, and husband Richard James Stickley.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Stickley of Iowa and Kenneth Stickley of Lonsdale; brother Estel Grim; two grandchildren, Rickey Stickley and Amber Stickley; and two great-grandchildren, Zane and Bryson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Ten Mile Cemetery.
Thomas Eugene “Tom” Montgomery, 79, of Alexander passed away March 5. He was born Nov. 11, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Tom was a retired overland transporter for several different funeral homes, a former Saline County Reserve Deputy, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mamie Montgomery.
Herbert Noel Taylor, 84, of Paron passed away Tuesday, March 5. He was born Oct. 28, in Paron. Mr. Taylor was a retired bridge contractor, a mason and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albro and Ruth Taylor; son John Taylor; and a daughter, Charlotte Arp.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Taylor; three grandchildren, Sheila Woodall, Debbie Chandler and Matt Taylor; two step-children, Joe Ellen Serio and Carol Orr; step-grandson Randy Serio; and two great-grandchildren, Sean Stenberg and Melanie Castillo.
Troy Dell “Coach” Reid, 79, of Haskell passed away Wednesday, March 6. He was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Leola. Mr. Reid was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He coached basketball for 38 years at several schools including Kale, Harmony Grove, Glen Rose, Leola, Guy Perkins and Atkins. Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Lottie Reid; his best friend and wife of 52 years, Louise “Lucy” Reid; three sisters, Noris West, Natalie Reid and Sally Hawkins; and a grandson, William Lee Hall, Jr.
