Anabel â€śAnnâ€ť Largent Newby, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2013.
She was born on July 15, 1925, in Ulm to Harvey â€śCuzâ€ť and Lula Payer Largent. Ann graduated from Weiner High School, where she played basketball. She attended Arkansas State College, now Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro.
Floy R. Walker, age 85, of Benton, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013.Â She was born May 2, 1928, in Tull.
Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of Old Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey E. and Ellen Ruth Burrow; her husband, Venson Walker; and two brothers, Curtis Dean Burrow and David Eugene Burrow.
Mrs. Dean Cochran Steele, age 98, of Benton, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013.Â She was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Caruthersville, Mo.Â
Mrs. Steele retired after 28 years as a psychiatric LPN at the Benton Services Center. She was of the Missionary Baptist faith.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maggie Cochran; her husband, Carl Miller Steele; a daughter, Barbara Ann Steward; a son, James Lee Steward; and a sister, Lorene Metzger.
Gary James Taylor, 67, after a long spell of illness has made his final journey to be with The Lord on June 20th.Â
Gary was born in Benton on Aug. 3, 1945, to parents Joseph Taylor and Lona Chadwick.
Gary was of the Pentecostal faith. He was an employee of Arkla for 13 years and became the owner of Garyâ€™s Detail Service of Benton for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his kids, loved God and his grandkids, and was an avid Razorback fan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Taylor; is father, Joseph M. Taylor; his brothers, John â€śRexâ€ť Taylor and David Williams.
Carl Douglas Thompson, 65, of Haskell, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013.Â He was born September 9, 1947 in Bauxite.Â Mr. Thompson retired from the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department and was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church.Â
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Thompson and a brother, William Dwight Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Lynn Thompson; mother, Esther Thompson; brother, James Larry Thompson and nieces, Viola Thompson Hobby, Carrie Thompson and Donna Riffe.
Louise Howard, 73, of Alexander went to be with her Lord on June 19, 2013, with her family by her side.
Louise retired from St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center after 25 years of service. She loved to spend time with her family and her dog, Mandy. Louise was a great cook and you never left her house hungry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bernice Leopard; her brothers, Wayne, Earl Jr. and Jule; and one sister, Betty.Â
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey Howard Sr.. who loved her and will miss her dearly.
Sharon Ann Skinner, 65, while resting in her home on Lake Norrell and surrounded by her loved ones, was gently embraced by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcomed into the Kingdom of God at 7:20 a.m. on June 19, 2013.Â
Sharon was born on Feb. 12, 1948, in Little Rock to her parents, Robbie Wilba Sawyer and Vera Virginia Barnhart.
Charlotte Dean Barnette Low, 25 of Colusa, Calif., passed away June 16, 2013.
She was born July 7, 1987, in Greenville, Miss., to Johnny and Joy Barnette of Arbuckle, Calif.
Charlotte was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a homemaker who loved her children dearly and enjoyed taking care of her family. She had earned am associate degree in early childhood education and was working toward becoming an elementary school teacher.
John William Nalley, 78, of Benton left this life to walk with the Lord he adored on Saturday, June 15. He was born in Benton on July 17, 1934, to Charlie and Daisy Nalley.
Donald Paul â€śFrogâ€ť Perryman, 58, of Bauxite passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013.Â He was born June 20, 1954 in Little Rock.Â
Donald worked at Quality Auto Parts for 20 years, was a heavy equipment operator and a professional AMA #52.Â
He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Paul Perryman; and a daughter, Gina Marie Perryman.
