Sherri Dianne Ridge Cathey, 39, left us to be with the Lord on June 26, 2013. She was born Nov. 22, 1973, in Little Rock, to Dale and Shirley Ridge as the youngest of three children.
She attended school in Bryant and graduated from Bryant High School. She earned a degree in accounting from UALR and went on to earn a master's degree in education to pursue a teaching career. She finished her career teaching at Bethel Middle School in Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Leslie Scruggs; and her paternal grandmother, Lois Ridge.
Ruby Helen Cullipher, 82, of Benton passed away June 27, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice house. She was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Guthrie, Okla.
She was the daughter of Edward Turner and Mary Mills Turner. Ruby was a homemaker for 76 years. She was a member of Benton Pentecostal Church of God and enjoyed caring for her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Turner; her brother, Ellis Turner; her sister, Inadelle Spakes; and her son, Ralph Cullipher.
Eva Power Moore, 84, of Benton died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, with her family at her side. She was born in Benton on Sept. 3, 1928, to the late Leslie and Mamie Landers Power.
She graduated from Benton High School in 1946 and went on to attend Little Rock Junior College and then the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
James Martin Hopper, 78, of Little Rock, passed away June 25, 2013.Â He was born Jan. 31, 1934, in Leola to Pete and Lucille Hopper, the superintendent of schools and the postmaster.
Lt. Freddie Marion "Jack" McKinley, who was retired from the Arkansas State Police, passed away on June 23, 2013, at the Murfreesboro Rehab and Nursing Center.
He was the son of W.H. "Bud" McKinley and Rosa Brewer. He was a graduate of Fountain Lake School, attended flight school and became a flight instructor and commercial pilot. He retired from the Arkansas State Police in 1980 after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro and a deacon emeritus. He was a member of Whittington Lodge 365 and a 32nd-degree Mason.
Julie Ann Reinmiller Hughes, 55, of Benton died Monday, June 24, 2013.Â She was born March 23, 1958, in Elizabeth, NJ.
Julie graduated from Benton High School in 1976 and was an accountant for Entergy Arkansas Inc. for over 30 years.Â She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Benton.
She was preceded in death by four children, Anne Marie, and triplets Andrew, Brendan, and Christopher, one sister, Janet Bailey; and her ather-in-law and mother-in-law, Dallas and Erma Hughes.
Adriel Leigh Taylor, 45, of Benton passed away June 24, 2013.Â She was born Jan. 13, 1968, in Little Rock toÂ Donald Clifton and Vivian Bryant.
Adriel was a full-time member of Saline Missionary Baptist Church.Â She loved her church family and thoroughly enjoyed going to church and learning Godâ€™s word.Â The Lord was always a full-time member of her home and in her life.Â She read Godâ€™s word daily.Â If you came in contact with Adriel, she was always willing to witness her story regarding her salvation and what eternal life meant to her.
Ruby Wanda Mills, 82, of Benton, died June 24, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.Â She was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Stanton, Texas, to the late George Rogers and Afton Ida Alderman.Â Â Mrs. Mills was a member of the River Street Church of Christ and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, George W. Mills, and one brother, Tonley Alderman.
Kenneth Taylor Gilbert, 63, of Benton, was born Nov. 2, 1949, and passed away on June 20, 2013. He was of the Southern Baptist affiliation and a member of the 173rd Airborne Alumnus. Kenneth was close to Jesus in his shared love of fishing and carpentry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Charles (Milner) Gilbert and family members, Ruby Davis and Pam Brown.
Casey Daryl Hill, 27, of Benton passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born March 7, 1986, in Benton, to Doyle Loyd and Mary Etta Hill
He graduated from Benton High School in 2004.Â Casey loved to play his guitar and drums.Â He played in many local bands.Â He was an avid outdoorsman.Â He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping with his friends and family.Â One of his many hobbies included taxidermy.Â He perfected it and started running his own shop, KC Taxidermy.Â
He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending Grape Chapel Church and the Church at Rock Creek.Â
