Doris Dean Harper

Doris Dean Harper, 87, of Benton passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. She was born July 12, 1926 in Saline County. Doris was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Onie Raper, husband, Warren Harper, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by son and daughter-in law, David Presley Harper and wife Roseanne of Benton; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Melton and husband Greg of Benton; brother, J. T. Raper, Benton; grandchildren, Erica Harper, Corey Melton, and Zachary Melton.

Sebert B. Magby

Sebert B. Magby, 79, of Benton, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013.  He was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Hot Springs.
Mr. Magby was a retired shop teacher at Benton High School and a member of Hurricane Lake Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Magby; his parents, Eathel and Lola Magby; and three brothers, Autrey, Dannie and Ferrell Magby.

Homer A. Tolbert

Homer A. Tolbert, 86, of Benton went to Heaven on July 13, 2013.
Homer was born to William Thomas and Lula Pearl Tolbert on Dec. 20, 1926, in Hillsboro, Ala.
He married Lois Faye Eason on Aug. 30, 1953. They lived most of their life together in Stuttgart, before relocating to Benton in 2000 to be near their daughter. Homer served in the military in the 183rd ordnance battalion in Germany and France, and acted as surgical technician and ambulance driver in the medical department.
