Dennis Keith Smith

Dennis Keith Smith, 62, of Sherwood formerly of Benton, passed away Monday, Feb. 11.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Rush Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Clayton Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Allen and Kris Smith of Sherwood, Chad Clayton and Sarah Smith of Bentonville; four grandsons, Grant, Trent, Ben and Ethan Smith; his mother, Dorothy Smith Jones of Benton; two brothers, Lonnie Smith of White Hall and Travis Smith of Benton; two sisters, Reba Miller of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kay McCardle of Phoenix, Ariz.

Franklin Gale Bivins

Franklin Gale Bivins, 78, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord Feb. 11.
Gale was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Roland to Ebenezer and Edna Bivins.  He worked for 21 years as a diesel mechanic at Roadway Express.  Gale enjoyed gardening, woodworking and tinkering with cars.
His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren Gale was a member of Family Church in Bryant. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Edna Carolyn Studer. 

Barbara O’Niece Horn

Barbara O’Niece Horn, 70, passed away February 12.  She was born January 24, 1943 in Benton. Barbara loved to read and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.  She retired as a LPTN from Benton Service Center.  She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Horn, and her parents, Roland and Bonnie Wilson.

Mary G. Burdick

Mary G. Burdick, 81, of Benton passed away February 11.
She was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to George and Isabell Fields.
She was a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Kenner, La.  Mary also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Matthew's Catholic Churches. In her adult life she was active in the Girl Scouts and enjoyed going camping with the girls.  She loved all children.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Angeles and Nick Fields.

Ellen Deon Turner Anderson, 68, of Adona passed away Saturday, Feb. 9.  She was born in North Little Rock, a daughter of Ceril Quinton and Jewell Vivinell Harrell Turner. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Anderson; two daughters, Wanda Vick of Benton and Sylvia Paxton of Benton; three sisters, Alice Weeks of Beebe, Catherine Hobby of Benton and Charlotte Burgess of Vimy Ridge; and four stepchildren, Christine Offield of Harris Brake, James Henry Anderson of Adona and Karry Anderson of Greenbrier.

Loella Francis Major Brown, 81, of Benton passed away Monday, Feb. 11. 
She was born June 20, 1931, in Paron.
Mrs. Brown and husband John owned Brown’s Corner in Paron. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Luda Major; her husband, John Edward Brown; a son, John R. "Johnny" Brown; two brothers, Don D. Major and Edison Major; and three sisters, Nancy L. Rowe, Glenda L. Haywood and Willie Threet.

James Wendell Smith

James Wendell Smith, 65, rode off to heaven Saturday, Feb. 9. Wendell died at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends and his dog, Four. The son of the late Homer E. Smith and Jewel Gates Smith, he was born Sept. 13, 1947, at the Saline County community of Kentucky. Wendell was a 1967 graduate of Fuller High School in Little Rock where he played football. He was a Seabee in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Wendell was a longtime employee of United Parcel Service in Little Rock.

Teresa Moseley Judd, 52, of Benton passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, at Saline Memorial Hospital, after suffering a massive heart attack. She was born March 4, 1960, to the late William Mosely and Freeda Moseley Tinkle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stan Judd; her sister, Sue Ashcraft and husband Tracy of Bryant; her niece Teena and nephew Shane and their children; and other relatives and friends.

Betty Maxine Elder Barger

Betty Maxine Elder Barger, 63, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 9. She was born Dec. 2, 1949 in DeWitt, to the late Scott Howard Elder and Marie Maxine Elder. She was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. Before becoming a homemaker, she was employed at the Benton Courier, Food and Fuel gas station, and Benton Veneer Co.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved canine companion, Shaq Barger.
