Lillian Anita "Nannie" Jones, 91, of Benton, spread her wings and went to meet the Lord on Aug. 20, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born to George and Annie Lee Thompson Halpain on Nov. 1, 1921, in Bauxite.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two brothers, G.W. Halpain and Luke Halpain; two sisters, Gladys Cox and Martha Robertson; and her husband, Raymond E. Jones.
John R. Prewitt II, 65, of Mountain Home passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at his residence. He was born Jan. 7, 1948, in Little Rock to John Ralph Prewitt and Mildred Louise (Fleming) Prewitt. Mr. Prewitt was a lifelong educator and a great leader. He loved hunting and fishing both in lakes and rivers.
John was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; his wife of 40 years, Gerrie Prewitt of Mountain Home; a son, Jon Michael Prewitt of Springdale; a daughter, Jessica Prewitt of Fayetteville; and one sister, Beverly Moore of Horn Lake, Miss.Â Â Â Â Â
Hazel (Kriegbaum) Russ, 82, of Benton passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. She was born on March 23, 1931, in Saline County, to the late William George and Gladys Hazel (Lee) Kriegbaum. Mrs. Russ was a 1948 graduate of Bryant High School, a 1951 graduate of St. Vincent Infirmary. She retired in 1989, after 38 years of devoted service to the profession she loved. She was a longtime member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Francis A. "Pete" Russ and brother Bill Kriegbaum.
Jean Mobley Millsap, 69, of Hensley, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013. She was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Vaden, to the late Jesse and Nancy (Hammons) Mobley.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Millsap; children, Barbara Jo (Mike) Russell, David, Mike, and Teresa.

Melba Caple Beaty, age 89, of Benton passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
She was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Sardis.
Melba was a housewife and a member of Mt. View Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elliott and Martha Jean Caple; her husband, Bennie Beaty; her sisters, Frances McDorman and Jean Baxley; and a grandson, Matthew Beaty.
Charles David Lewallen, age 56, of Haskell passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1957, in Malvern.
Charles was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winona Raper Lewallen; and a nephew Jeremy Lewallen.
Survivors include three daughters, April Nabholz, Amber Shapter and Autumn Buckner; hia father, Charles Clifford Lewallen; two brothers, Clifton and Timmy Lewallen; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ashby Funeral Home.
Jesse Lee Haislip, age 83, of Benton passed away on Aug. 15, 2013. He was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Cardwell, Mo.
Jesse was a retired plumber and pipefitter for Reynolds Metals Co. and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Mary Jane Williams Haislip; two brothers, Sam and Harvey; and two sisters, Ruby Lovins and Virgie Cox.
Sharlotte Gjestvang Sawyer, 70, of Lono passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.Â She was born Nov. 10, 1942, in Little Rock, the daughter of George and Anna Lee Crowley Gjestvang.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and embroidery. Sharlotte was a member of South Main Missionary Baptist Church.Â Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen "O.J." James Sawyer Jr.; and a sister, Marie Heitman.
Dusky M. Land, 66, of Benton, went home to his heavenly father this past Wednesday, after a long progressive illness, following a stroke and cancer. He was saved, had made peace with the Lord, and was eager to be united once more with his wife, Mary Pate Land; his parents, W.O. and Lenore, and his beloved brother, Drayton.
Sgt. Roger Dale Bullard Sr., 64 , of Benton, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013.
He was born Jan. 21, 1949, in Benton.
Roger was a Vietnam War Army veteran and retired from the Saline County Sheriffs Office as a sergeant.Â He was a member of the F.O.P. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Roger was the co-founder of the Saline County Deputy Sheriffs Association and helped build the Saline County Sheriffs Training Facility.Â
He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Bullard; his mother, Thelma Lee Ables; and a brother, Lonnie E. Ables Jr.
