Karen Sims, 64, passed away July 13, 2013.
Karen was born Dec. 9, 1948 in Cool Ridge, W. Va.
Karen loved her grandkids. Highlights of her time with the grandchildren included baking together, reading to Chase and attending baseball games where she was always cheering for Austin. Karen loved the Lord and spending time reading her Bible.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents. George and Gladys Anderson; and one brother, Timmy Anderson.
Homer Lee Bradshaw, 86 of Benton, died Monday, July 15, 2013.
Homer was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Center, Texas. to the late Adam and Callie (Renfrow) Bradshaw.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters/
Mr. Bradshaw was a member of Highway Church of Christ in Benton. He was retired from Alcoa. He was most well-known for his fresh produce stand, and he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Gina Denise Watkins, 47, of Bauxite passed away July 15, 2013.Â She was born Sept. 15, 1965, to Jimmy D. and Dorothy Lewis Henry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Weldon Craig Smart.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â .
She is survived by her husband, Roy Watkins; her daughters, Alexis Smart and Haley Rider; a granddaughter, Aadison Robertson; a brother, Darrell Henry; and two sisters, Diana Patterson and Stacy Henry.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the funeral home.
Doris Dean Harper, 87, of Benton passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. She was born July 12, 1926 in Saline County. Doris was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Onie Raper, husband, Warren Harper, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived byÂ son and daughter-in law, David Presley Harper and wife Roseanne of Benton; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Melton and husband Greg of Benton; brother, J. T. Raper, Benton; grandchildren, Erica Harper, Corey Melton, and Zachary Melton.
On July 4, 2013, EmilyRose Elizabeth Lyons (Emily or Emmie) of Benton was called to heaven at the all too young age of 6 years old.
Sebert B. Magby, 79, of Benton, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013.Â He was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Hot Springs.
Mr. Magby was a retired shop teacher at Benton High School and a member of Hurricane Lake Baptist Church.Â
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Magby; his parents, Eathel and Lola Magby; and three brothers, Autrey, Dannie and Ferrell Magby.
Homer A. Tolbert, 86, of Benton went to Heaven on July 13, 2013.
Homer was born to William Thomas and Lula Pearl Tolbert on Dec. 20, 1926, in Hillsboro, Ala.
He married Lois Faye Eason on Aug. 30, 1953. They lived most of their life together in Stuttgart, before relocating to Benton in 2000 to be near their daughter. Homer served in the military in the 183rd ordnance battalion in Germany and France, and acted as surgical technician and ambulance driver in the medical department.
Billy J. Krticka, 72, of Benton passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
He was born July 24, 1940, to the late Joseph A. and Jetta (Ledbetter) Krticka in Benton.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and had retired after 32 years as a dragline operator for Alcoa.
Mr. Krticka loved hunting and fishing, but most of all, cherished his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Krticka; and one sister, Catherine Cook.
Jane Parriett, 78 of Leola passed away July 12, 2013.Â She was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Prattsville to the late George and Mary Stroup Parriett.Â
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sisters, Nora McCool and Dorothy Benbrook.
Survivors are her sisters, Christine Spurlin of Benton, Myrtle McCool of Leola and Pearl Jackson of Little Rock; and her caregiver, Mary Watson.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Brush Creek Cemetery in Leola. Ashby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is set from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.Â
Sadie Pauline Adams, age 87, of Benton, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.Â She was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Jonesboro. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mattie Hunter and a son, James Earl Norris.
She is survived by her husband, Doris Bud Adams of Benton; a daughter, Emma Allard of Cleburne, Texas; five grandchildren, Tammy Jo Allard Sandifer, Pamela Marie Allard Weaver, Cynthia Lynn Allard Lucland, John Francis Allard Jr. and James Donald Allard and wife Yvonnie; 11 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
