Donnie Sue 'Pappy' Brooks

Donnie Sue "Pappy" Brooks, 79, of Conway passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013.
She was born July 12, 1934, in East End, to the late Coy Reed and Winnie Lowry Reed.
She was a former member of East End Baptist Church and a current member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Sheridan High School.

Freda Jewel Reddig

Freda Jewel Reddig, 91, of Benton passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 in Bryant.  She was born May 22, 1922 in Oppelo, to the late Henry and Hattie Ray Chastain. 
She was in cancer research at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church and the Joy Group Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Reddig; one brother, Loyce Chastain; and three sisters, Bertha Graves, Edna Taylor and Nell Thomas.

Boyd Edwin Allinson

Boyd Edwin Allinson, 84, of Bauxite passed away on Aug. 2, 2013. He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Sheridan
Boyd graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College (now University of Central Arkansas) with a degree in broadcast journalism. While attending ASTC, he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Kidd. They married in 1951, and were married for 53 years.

Reuben Chester Carter

Reuben Chester Carter, 58, of Little Rock, passed away Aug. 2, 2013. He was born June 15, 1955.
Reuben, a 33-year veteran of the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, was respected and loved for his leadership, generosity, kind spirit, and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Delores Carter; and a brother, Bruce David Carter.

Euell Franklin 'Jabo' Edmonson

Euell Franklin “Jabo” Edmonson, 83, of Bauxite passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 2, 2013.
He was born June 21, 1930, in Bauxite to the late David Frank and Alice Henthorne Edmonson.
Mr. Edmonson was a sign painter and wildlife artist and was one of the first five individuals inducted into the Bauxite Sports Hall of Fame.
He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and the Bauxite Old Timers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, D F. Edmonson and Bill Edmonson.

Leroy Nalley

Leroy Nalley, age 85, of Benton, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013. 
He was born March 10, 1928 in Benton to Charlie and Daisy Nalley. Leroy was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, infant Mary Rachel, Carl “Boose” Nalley, Louis Nalley, Doris Wright, Elizabeth “Babe” McPherson, Charlene Beaty, Martha Ann Rogers, Leeman Nalley and John Nalley; a son, Ronnie Nalley and a grandson, Tanner Nalley.

Mary Tucker Phillips

Mary Tucker Phillips, 92, departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 1. She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Gurdon, to Robert and Irene Tucker. She grew up in Gurdon and in 1943 married Harold Phillips. They raised their children in North Little Rock.
After moving to Benton, she belonged to First United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Sisters Sunday School Class and the senior group, Don't Mention Age. She was member of Provincia de La Sal Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Clifford O’Neal Jones

Clifford O’Neal Jones, 29, of Benton passed away July 30, 2013.  He was born May 22, 1984 in Little Rock to Neal Jones and Elizabeth Hawkins Jones Stephens.
Cliff was a free spirit, enjoying outdoor sports, fishing and hunting, and the thrill of selling cars.
Clifford was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Hawkins; his grandmother, Lavern Jones; and his beloved dog, Debo.

Carra Jo Toler

Carra Jo Toler, 85, of Bryant passed away July 31. She was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Marianna, to the late Horace Bonner and Vivian Wild.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bryant. Carra Jo retired from the Internal Revenue Service, after serving as a homemaker for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time with her family on Lake Ouachita and rocking babies in the church nursery.
She delighted in all activities which involved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their friends. In fact, she affectionately became known to all who knew her as GG, for Great-Grandma.
