Maxine D. Lovell, 90, of Benton passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. She was born in Dunkerton, Iowa, on Sept. 1, 1922, to John William and Myrtle Henry Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thaddeus M. Lovell; and her brother, Hugh Davis.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Lovell of Memphis, Tenn., and Scott Lovell and wife Pat of Benton; grandchildren Thad, Cord, Brandon and wife Jennifer, Matt and April; and two great-grandchildren. Her greatest love was her family.
Willie Mae Hogue Lindsey, 100, of Plano, Texas, was called to her heavenly home on May 5, 2013. Willie Mae was born May 2, 1913, to Samuel McDowell Hogue and Rosa Brumbelow Hogue in Tull. Willie Mae married Earl Lindsey on Nov. 10, 1932, in Saline County. They owned and operated Lindsey’s Esso Station in Bauxite for many years. They were active in the Methodist Church in Bauxite and in other community activities. After retirement they made their home in Bryant. Willie Mae was a wonderful cook, seamstress and gardener. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dorothy Billingsley, 65, passed away May 2, 2013.
Dorothy was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Little Rock.
She was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity and the First Christian Church in Little Rock.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Jessie and Opal Smith.
She is survived by Johnny James, her cousin, friend, and caregiver of many years. She is also survived by many cousins, friends, and family members, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her always.
Mary Sue Gentry, 65, of Little Rock passed away May 5, 2013.
She was born Jan. 7, 1948 in Little Rock. Mary Sue worked for Cleveland Electric and Alltel and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse “Pete” McClain and Pansy Fox McClain.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Jaimie Gentry of Bryant; grandchildren, Jordan Gentry, Emily Gentry, Lily Carden, and Sylvia Carden; a nephew, Kenneth McClain; and two nieces, Janet Bredenberg, and Amy Goshien.
Billy Frank Barlow, 83, of Benton passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was born April 10, 1930, in Paris, to the late Orvel and Mabel Barlow.
Jolly Darrell Robertson, 89, of Oppelo passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was born Nov., 17, 1923, in Oppelo, a son of Wesley Robertson and Bethel Hamilton Robertson. He was a commercial plasterer, and former bait store/gas station owner near Nimrod Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Robertson, and four brothers.
Waylon Sheffield, 82, of Bryant passed away April 24, 2013. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bryant, a past member of the board of directors of the Bryant Senior Activity Center, and a Mason.
Waylon served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1969. He was a highly decorated combat veteran, receiving the Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam.
Waylon was a member of VFW Post 2256, serving as adjutant for 13 years. He was a former commander of the Military Order of the Cootie, an honor degree of the VFW, and a past member of the VFW Honor Guard.

William Murl Tate, of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was 86 years old.
Murl was born at home in the Ten Mile Community (Lonsdale) on Oct. 10, 1926, the son of Thomas Jefferson Tate and Flora Mae (Craft) Tate.
 After school and working on the family farm, he went to work for Kaiser in the shipyard of Vancouver, Wash., during World War II. When he returned to Arkansas, he worked for Little Rock Piano Co. and in the 1950s began a wholesale piano company in Benton with Ernest Pelton.Â
Bertha Louanna Ray, age 76, of Alexander passed away Friday, May 3, 2013.
She was born Aug. 19, 1932 in Scott.Â
Mrs. Ray was a school bus driver for the Bryant School District and a member of Pleasant Hills Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Adda Osburn; her husband, Boyce Ray; a daughter, Dianna Goss; and a son, Terry Ray.
Barbara Ann Atkinson, 65, of Haskell passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Benton. Mrs. Atkinson was a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Family Church in Bryant.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mattie Whitley, and four sisters, Lillian Whitley, Ada Rogers, Lucille Cole and Joyce Parnell.
