Patsy Wilkinson, better known as â€śNana," 65, of Bauxite went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.Â
She was born May 19, 1948, in Benton.Â
Mrs. Wilkinson retired from the Alexander Human Development Center after 28 years and was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Vivian Cochran; her husband, Thomas Wilkinson; a brother, W.R. "Bill" Cochran; her grandmother, Gracie Gosvenor; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
James (Jim) Rice, age 68, of Bald Knob, formerly of Benton, passed away at White County Hospital on Dec. 6, 2013.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired LPTN. (licensed psychiatric technician nurse).
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, James O. and Virginia Robinson; a brother, Olen Robinson; and his grandparents, Charles and Martha Reason and Virgil and Elizabeth Lovell.
Charles Lee Gray, 95, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.Â
He was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Grand Rivers, Ky., to Joseph Arthur and Bertha Grace (Thompson) Gray.
Charles graduated from Kensett High School. He earned a degree in education from Henderson State University and a master's degree in school administration from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He worked 39 years in Arkansas education at Manchester, Velvet Ridge, Harmony Grove (Benton), Bentonville, Wilmar, Harmony Grove (Camden), Fountain Hill, Biggers-Reyno, Paron and Bruno-Pyatt Schools.
Betty Gault, age 79, a resident of Haskell and Hot Springs, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 surrounded by her family.
Betty was a teacher at Bryant School District for 32 years and after retirement went on to teach at Crossgate Christian Academy in Hot Springs.
She was a member of Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Haskell and was preceded in death by her husband, A.Z. Gault.
Von Elda Jean Marshall, 91 years old, died Dec. 7, 2013 at her home in Benton, Ark.
Born to Swedish parents, Charles Otto and Agnes Rydell Johnson, on Oct. 12, 1922, in Kackley, Kan., she was the seventh of eight children. She graduated from Scandia High School (the Home of the Flying Swedes) in 1940, after which she and her friend, Scrappy Nylund, drove Route 66 to Los Angeles, Calif., where she worked as a secretary in the shipyards and for Dun & Bradstreet during World War II.
Wilton â€śChipâ€ť Naquin, age 47, passed away December 5, 2013. Wilton was born on December 2, 1966 in Loranger, Louisiana.
Wilton is survived by his wife of 26 years, Bobbie Jo Naquin; 2 daughters, Kristal and husband Brent Cook of Benton, and Naomi Naquin of Benton, AR; 2 sons, Darian and Christopher Darden of Benton, AR; sister, Emily Passman of Alexander, AR; granddaughter, Kahlan Cook of Benton, AR; many nieces and nephews along with numerous friends and family members who loved him dearly and will miss him always.
Marion D. â€śWayneâ€ť Wilson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 30, 1939 at Poyen, Arkansas, the son of the late Elbert â€śTobeâ€ť and Birdie C. Murdock Wilson. Â Mr. Wilson was a member and deacon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, and loved to read and study his Bible. Â He was retired from Lucent Technology, was a lifetime member of Toler Hunting Club, and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening of all kinds. Â
James â€śJimâ€ť R. Golman, 82, of Benton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. He was born July 10, 1931 in San Gabriel, California to the late Robert L. Golman and Grace Miller Golman. He was an Air Force Veteran Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean War and stationed in Japan for 2 Â˝ years. Retired from Southwestern Bell and AT&T with 35 years of service; and member of Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church since 1975 and served faithfully as a Deacon; taught the youth and was a member of the adult choir.
Bonnie Dowell Johnston Finley, 67, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.Â She was born May 24, 1946 in Little Rock.Â Mrs. Finley retired from Carlton-Bates Company after 20 years.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Leon Johnston and Bonnie May McKray Johnston and her husband, Richard Leon Finley.
Joyce M. Brotherton, 76, passed away Dec. 2, 2013. Joyce was born March 11, 1937 in Little Rock.
