Mary Elizabeth Ballard Olson, 91, of Traskwood went to meet her Lord on Nov. 1, 2013. She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Benton. She was of the Baptist faith. Mary was a volunteer for the Saline Hospital Auxiliary for more than 10 years. She was blessed with a good life, loved her family, and liked to â€śgo and do.â€ť
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Gaum "Doc" Ballard and Annie Jewel; her stepfather; William Asa Rigsby, her husbands, Francis Olson and the
father of her children, Clinton Burnett; five sisters and five brothers.
Juanitha Reed Perkins, 85, of Benton passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. She was born June 27, 1928 in Dallas County. Juanita was a housewife and a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard William Myers and Mary Joyce Dalton Myers; her husband, Charles Perkins; and 10 siblings.
Rachel G. Lattin White, 82, of Benton (Shaw community), passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013.Â She was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Bauxite to Samuel and Annie Lois Jones Lattin.Â She was of Baptist faith.
Aside from her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one great-grandson.
Surviving Rachel is a daughter, Kay Lewis of Benton; a son, Wayne White of Benton; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and three sisters.
Nicholas Kyle Miller, 30, of Benton passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.Â He was born March 13, 1983 in Chardon, Ohio.
Â Nick was owner and operator of Nick Miller Construction.Â
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Virginia M. Volpe Maynard and Betty Yoder Miller; two sisters, Julie and Jennifer Miller; a brother, Jared Miller; and an uncle, Rex Maynard.
Yankee Wallace Wade Combee, 7 months old, of Alexander, died Nov. 5, 2013. He was born on April 16, 2013 in Little Rock.Â
He was preceded in death by two great-grandfathers, Morris Combee and Wallace King.
Ray Griffin, 81, of Heber Springs, formerly of Benton, passed away on Nov. 9, 2013, from lung cancer. He was born Jan. 20, 1932. in Foyil, Okla.,to Charles Henry Griffin and Clara Moore Griffin.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and served with the Army in the Korean War. A self-proclaimed workaholic, he was an electician and retired after 28 years with Enmar as maintenance supervisor.
He also loved woodworking and made all types of cedar furniture and accessories.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leslie, Walter, Troy, Berlie, Junior, Raymond, Norman and Ethel.
Steven Wayne Longo, 43, of Benton passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 11, 1970 in Santa Clara, Calif.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Lee Wayne Longo.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Boyce Longo of Benton; a son, Steven Wayne Longo Jr of Benton.; a daughter, Shelby B. Longo of Benton; his mother, Wilma Joyce Gilbert of Gepp; his stepfather, Charles E. Gilbert of Gepp; a brother, Jeff Longo of South Haven, Miss.
Graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Pinecrest Cemetery.Â
Robert â€śJackieâ€ť Howell, 79, of Benton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Little Rock.Â
He was born Nov. 3, 1934 in Ward to the late Leathie Ann Parker.
Â He was a U.S. Army veteran, a deacon of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church, a retired custodian of Benton High School and a retired security guard for Reynolds Aluminum.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James D. Howell and Floyd M. Howell
Minda Robin Mowery went to be with our Lord on Nov. 6, 2013, after a long, brave battle with cancer. She was born in Rock Island, Ill., on May 19, 1965.
Perry Ray Mann, 52, of Little Rock passed away on Nov. 7, 2013.
He was born May 3, 1961, to the late Ray Joe and Melba Inez Mann.
Perry was a 1979 graduate of Bryant High School. where he was voted most handsome.
He was an accomplished singer, musician and cabinet builder; he also had a passion for shooting 22 Bench Rest Rim Fire and was the international champion in 1995.
His most precious times were spent with his family and friends.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Mary Mann.
