Evelyn Dollie Cheshier, 97, of Heber Springs passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Benton, the daughter of the late Edward Young Green and Hattie (Ogle) Green.
Mrs. Cheshier was a homemaker and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest P. Cheshier, who passed away on March 3, 2000.
James â€śJimâ€ť Thomas Smith, 81, formerly of Benton, died May 23, in Kaufman, Tex.
Mr. Smith was born in Benton on Sept. 25, 1931 to James Manson and Zelma Smith. He married Ruth Whitted on Sept. 25, 1949. Mr. Smith worked for Walters Drilling Co. in Benton for many years before transferring to the companyâ€™s Dallas office in 1967. He later worked for Southwestern Laboratories in Arlington as a driller and drilling supervisor until his retirement in 1987.
Louis Deward Snapp, 84, of Bryant, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013.Â He was born January 31, 1929 in McCoy, Texas to the late James and Frances Snapp.Â Mr. Snapp was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and retired owner of United Parts and Supply Company.Â He was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church, V.F.W., Alumina Lodge #574 of Bryant and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
Levita Coppock Clement Bigler, 59, of Anchorage, Alaska passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013.Â She was born December 19, 1953 to Gyle W. Coppock and Alita Hamilton Coppock Cockman.Â Mrs. Bigler had a long career with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) as a computer drafter.Â She retired December 13, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gyle W. Coppock; her stepfather, Edward E. Cockman, and her brothers, Darrell Coppock and Ronnie Cockman.
John C. Oates, 78, of Benton passed away Friday, May 24 at Saline Memorial Hospital. He was born September 17, 1934 in Lufkin, Texas. John was a retired dental lab tech, a US Air Force Veteran, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cue E. Oates and Isca A. Jones Oates.
Sarah Loraine Wilson, 58, of Benton passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. Sarah was born Feb. 5, 1955, in Little Rock to the late John Archie Lee and Alberta (Shenault) Wilson.
She is survived by siblings Earl Wilson, Mary McAfee, Chester Wilson, and Lily Wilson, and nephew Jerry C. Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Arkansas Funeral Care, located at 2620 W. Main St. in Jacksonville.

Elder Theodore â€śTedâ€ť French went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.Â He was born Dec. 24, 1918, in Houston, Ark., to Hugh and Edith French.
He served his country in both the Army and the Navy, receiving an honorable discharge a year before World War II ended.
Mr. French was employed with Allied Van Lines and United Van Lines for a combined total of 30 years, after which he chose to become an independent salesman with Snap-On Tools from 1969 to 1987.Â After many miles and many friends later, Ted decided to retire to his farm in 1987, where he enjoyed the remainder of his days.
Lucy Faye Ray, 77, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Benton with her family at her side.Â
The daughter of Jessie and Annie Bell McCuin Millsaps, she was born Oct. 13, 1935, in Nogo.Â She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church in Little.Â Â Lucy enjoyed working in her yard and traveling.Â Â
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Ray; two brothers; and three sisters.
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Hosaka passed from this life to be with God on May 21, 2013.
She was born Feb. 6, 1933. Jackie was a Baptist and will be missed by many friends, relatives and loving church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hosaka; her parents, Jack and WIllie Jones; her brothers. Jesse and Johnny Jones; and her grandson, Tommy Lee White.
Mildred Jewell, 76, of Benton passed away Monday May 20, 2013.
Mildred was born April 6, 1937 in Niceville, Fla., to Albert and Ethyl Evans. Mildred enjoyed reading, puzzles, camping, fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 32 years, Sherman A. Jewell; two brothers: Leslie and Lewis Evans; and two sisters, Hettie May King and Mary Dale Blackman.
Mildred is survived by one son, George Bjornson and wife Victoria of Tulsa, Okla.
