Dr. Raymond Eugene (Gene) Cole

Dr. Raymond Eugene (Gene) Cole, Emeritus Professor of Economics at Arkansas Tech University, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his home in Russellville where he was surrounded by family and friends.  He was born in 1937 to Nan Nolan and Raymond Louis Cole in Paragould.          

Matias Serratos

Matias Serratos, 49 of Little Rock passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. Although he had battled lung and brain cancer for the past 2 1/2 years, he lost his life in a horrendous single vehicle accident.

Minnie J. Easter

Minnie J. Easter, 98, was embraced in her Heavenly Saviour’s arms on June 25, 2014.
She was born in Saline County to Martin and Rena Neighbors on July 6, 1915.  Minnie started work at the age of 12.  Her first job was at the Owasso plant in Benton, where she made potato crates for 25 cents an hour.
She has donated items to the Gann Museum.  She worked at all of the furniture factories in Benton until she retired from Arkansas Face Veneer. 
After retirement, she went to work as a housekeeper for Phillip and Cissy Brown until the age of 85, when she stopped working due to health reasons.
