Lora Peek, 89 of Benton died Sunday, June 10, in Bryant. She was born September 5, 1922 the daughter of the late Robert Allen and Rettie Isabella Hardy Peek. Lora was retired from the Timex Corp. in Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lovice Garner; two brothers, Lual Peek and Leamon Peek.
She is survived by one sister, Loice Peek of Benton and one niece.
Services will be 10 a.m.,Wednesday, June 13 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Body will lie n state Tuesday, June 12 at the funeral home.
David Ray Dickerson Sr., 65, of Benton, passed away Saturday, June 9.Â He was born September 27, 1946 in Morton.Â Mr. Dickerson worked at the Benton Service Center for 30 years.Â His grandkids and his flowers were his joy in life.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma Brawley and Kaylor Monroe Dickerson and two brothers, Billy Dickerson and Kaylor Dickerson II.
He is survived by two children, Branda Blakley and David Dickerson Jr.; sister, Veleta Green; three grandchildren, Kaylor, Devlyn and Chloe and his ex-wife and friend, Nancy Smith.
Dalton L. â€śBuddyâ€ť Northern Jr., 65, of Benton; lost his battle to cancer and passed away peacefully Sunday, June 10.Â He was born November 19, 1946 in Little Rock, to the late Dalton L. Northern Sr.
George D. Phillips, 83 of Shannon Hills, passed away June 9. He was born April 2, 1929 in Greenbrier, to the late James Phillips and Versie (Hostiter) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was retired from ABF Freight after 40 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia; sisters Lilly Bell Waggle, Olie McCall and Josie Foster; and brothers Eddie Phillips and Junior Phillips.
Our Angel, Makenzie Kaylee Flores, went to Heaven on Saturday, June 9, at Arkansas Childrenâ€™s Hospital in Little Rock. She was born October 2, 2002, in Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer Berry and Dimple Nicklaus, both of Benton; Robert and Anna Evans of Alexander; an uncle, Thomas Flores of Jacksonville; and great-uncles, Dan Evans and David Berry Sr..
Lovice Garner, 87, of Benton, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, June 6, in Bryant. She was born Aug. 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert Allen and Rettie Isabella Hardy Peek. Lovice was a retired seamstress with Oberman's Manufacturing in Arkadelphia. She was a member of Pine Street Church of Christ in Arkadelphia and was attending Salem Road Church of Christ near Benton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Garner; and two brothers, Lual Peek and Leamon Peek.
Survivors are two sisters, Lora Peek and Loice Peek, both of Benton; and one niece.
Lois Marie Farrow Sky-Eagle passed away on June 6, at her home in Lonsdale. Lois was born May 14, 1939, in Oak Grove, La. She was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God in Malvern.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Theodore â€śBig Bearâ€ť Sky-Eagle Sr.; one son, William Allen Sky-Eagle; her father, Bill Farrow and wife Addie; her mother, Arvie (Barton) Helton and husband Aubrey; and an infant brother, William Farrow.
Jack Scott, age 82, of Benton died Thursday, June 7, at Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born in Aplin, on Jan. 31, 1930, to the late Robert Bert and Viola Padgett Scott. He was a building contractor for many years, loved his job and was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church. In addition, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling and going on cruises.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Debbie Ann Crane; one sister, Ara Scott Drum; and two step-children, Rick Bishop and Julie Bishop.
Oma E. Nix, 86, of Benton passed away on Tuesday, June 5, at Saline Memorial Hospital.Â
She was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Emmet to the late F.L. and Ora Mae Hathcoat McAdams.
Mrs. Nix loved to work in her yard and raise vegetables and roses and loved helping people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleburne A. Nix; one son, David Nix; four brothers, Gilbert, Marshman, J.W., and Ervin McAdams; and one sister, Betty Lockard.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah K. Nix of Ashdown; a special nephew, Jimmy McAdams of Ashdown; other nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Pearl Christine (Ausburn) Westbrook, 77, of Benton, passed away June 4.Â She was born on March 14, 1935 in Kensett. Pearl was a homemaker, an avide stamp and Depression glass collector. Her prayers and faith in God have been passed on to her children and grand children.
Pearl was proceeded in death by her mother, Ruby and her father, Dick Ausburn,Â brother, Jim Ausburn, an infant brother, Roger and a great-grandson, Rowan Phillip Boozer.
