Pat Collins Bryant

November 21, 2012

Pat Collins Bryant, 76, of Benton, left this world on Nov. 19, to join God Almighty. Her beautiful smile and “crazy” personality will be so sadly missed by her family and a host of friends.  Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Wayne Bryant; and her cherished mother and father, Bill and Dove Collins all of Benton.

Peggy G. Loy Wallace

Peggy G. Loy Wallace, 82, of Bryant passed away peacefully on Nov. 19.
The Wallaces moved to Bryant in 1963, building the first home in Tanglewood Acres. She loved her yard, and was happiest when caring for her family.  She loved to make homemade rolls at every occasion, often sending them to neighbors. After her youngest son started school, she worked at Bryant Dairy King and later Bob’s Thriftway.

Patsy Campbell Adney

Patsy Campbell Adney, 84, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 18.  Patsy was born in Bauxite to Frank and Emily Campbell on March 10, 1928.
She loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends.  She was longtime member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.  
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James Adney, her grandaughter, Randi Ann Adney; and her brother. Frank Campbell Jr. 

Kenneth “Kenny” Landreth

Kenneth “Kenny” Landreth, 57, of Poyen passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, at Hot Spring County Medical Center.  He was born July 20, 1955, in Little Rock, the son of Gerald “Jerry” and Elizabeth Ann Sanders Landreth.
He loved farming, singing at church, floral design and doing for others.  Kenny was a member of Poyen Missionary Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald “Jerry” Landreth.

Victor “Heavy” Polston

Victor “Heavy” Polston, 58, of Haskell passed away on Nov. 19 at his home.  He was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Fresno, Calif., to the late Noel F. and Thelma Odell “Sue” Polston. 
Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Beverly Sue Blair and Sharon Ann Estes, both of Benton.

Nolan R. James

Nolan R. James, 78, of Benton passed away Monday, Nov. 19.  He was born June 16, 1934, in Saline County.  Mr. James was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an insurance agent.
He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. where he served as music director and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a Mason with the Rubicon Lodge 627. 
Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Roy James; and two brothers, Roland James and Derrel James.

Danny Beaty

Danny Beaty, 57, of Hot Springs, formerly of Benton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17.  He was born Dec. 21, 1955, in Benton.  Mr. Beaty was a machinist in Hot Springs. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Hazel Beaty.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Beaty of Hot Springs; two sons, Chad Beaty of Benton and Matthew Beaty of Little Rock; three sisters, Brenda Herring of Hot Springs, Darlene Foshee of Benton and Marlene Golliver of Benton; and two grandchildren.

Mary Sue (Miller) Christie

Mary Sue (Miller) Christie, 75, of Haskell passed away Friday, Nov. 16, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
She was born Feb. 9, 1937, to the late Rev. Collie Melvin and Ophelia Mae (Borders) Miller in Columbia County. Sue was a very devout wife and Christian woman, she loved the lord and was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and loving caregiver to many and took care of two handicapped children. Her passion in life was caring for people whom she loved.

Buddy "Shorty" Davis

Buddy “Shorty” Davis, 83, of Benton entered the heavenly city where there is no more pain, sickness or sadness.  He received his new body. We rejoice for him, but grieve for our loss.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Jones Lee “Duck” Davis and Pearla Mae Oglesby Harris; his siblings, Alta Rudder, Ruth Burford, Thelma “Polly” Ables, Maurice Davis, Coy Davis and Roy Davis; and his great-granddaughter, Madison Bailey.

Lucille Baker Hannon

Lucille Baker Hannon, 92, of Benton passed Monday, Nov. 12. She was born in Cotton Plant to the late Oliver B. Baker and Henrietta (White) Hunt.
She is survived by her son, John Hannon Sr.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Longley Baptist Church in Little Rock with the Rev. Billy R. Brewster officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Benton by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10:15 a.m. until time of the service.
