Jane 'Tootie' Johnson Higgins

Jane “Tootie” Johnson Higgins, 71, passed away Nov. 8 at University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock.
She was born Oct. 10,1940, in Traskswood, to David and Ruby Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Kenneth Higgins; one son, Donald David Higgins; two brothers, Skeet and Buster Johnson; a sister, Betty Burnett; two grandchildren, Jonathan and David; and a former daughter-in-law, Deborah Kay Higgins.

Carolyn Joyce “Josie” Puckett Babbs

Carolyn Joyce “Josie” Puckett Babbs, 71, of Benton died Monday, Nov. 7. She was born April 4, 1940, in Benton.
She was a homemaker and a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Jess Puckett Sr. and Melba Lewis Puckett; her husband, Robert Babbs; and a daughter, Lisa Brown.

James O. Willis

James O. Willis, 84, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 6.  He was born July 24, 1927, in Saline County to the late Charles and Izoria Willis. 
James was a truck driver and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Willis;a and sister, Lillian Porter. 
He is survived by his brother, Clyde O’Dell Willis of New Iberia, La.; his sisters, Etta Moody of Lonoke and Billie Thorne of North Little Rock; and the extended family of Brother Randy Ward and wife Rita, and his granddaughter, Olivia Ward.

Marjorie Christene Word

Marjorie Christene Word, 83, of Bauxite died Sunday, Nov. 6. She was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Poyen.
Marjorie was a retired cafeteria worker for Pine Haven Schools, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carva Morris Williams and Erma Williams; her husband, Tilford Leland Word; and her son, Bobby Word.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Davis of Benton.

Mary F. Smith

Mary F. Smith, 70, of Haskell, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6.  She was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Humphrey, to the late P.A. and Jessie Capps.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eullie E. “Shorty” Smith. 

James Parvin Teague

James Parvin Teague, 71, of Bismarck passed away on Nov.12, with his family by his side.  James was born on March 28, 1940 in Hot Springs to the late Parvin and Marie Teague.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering on motors.  His most treasured times was time spent with his family.

Thomas 'Tommy' Edward Chandler

Thomas “Tommy” Edward Chandler, 80, of Lonsdale, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6.  He was born Oct. 12, 1931 in Tahoka, Texas, to the late Clive and Hazel Chandler.
He was a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 34 of Benton and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Strickland and Betty Graves; and one brother, Elwayne Chandler.

Sharron K. Seyfert

Sharron K. Seyfert, 65, of Bauxite departed this life at her home on Nov. 3.  She was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Ashland, Kan., to Jim and Leona Mae Williams.
She married Glen D. Seyfert on Dec. 1, 1978.  Mrs. Seyfert was a United Methodist and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Sharron had retired after 17 years of employment with the Department of Health and Human Services.  She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, cross-stitch and being with friends and family.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kala Jellison of Protection, Kan., and Connie DeMoss of Ordway, Colo.

Julia Adelene Tiner

Julia Adelene Tiner, 76, of Benton, passed away Friday, Nov. 3.  She was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Batesville, to the late Sam Thomas and Ruth Daughdril Roberts.  Julia was of the Baptist faith.
She is survivors by three sons, William Thomas Dea, Djzorn Dean  and Milton Tiner, Jr. all of Mabelvale; two daughters, Laura Ramsey of Kentucky and Sherri Specht of Mabelvale; a sister, Bonnie Shipps of California; her ex-husband, Milton Tiner Sr. of Benton; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Lindy Dale Chambers, Sr. , 72, of Bryant, went to be with his Savior Wednesday, Nov. 2,. He was predeceased by his father, Leven Chambers; his mother, Lissie Tatum Chambers; a brother, Orville Chambers; and a sister, Maxine Chambers Meyer.
