Kenneth P. Pearson, 64, passed away Sept. 15 at the Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. He was born April 18, 1947, to Joseph and Laura Stowell Gionfriddo.
He was of the Catholic faith and a retired equipment operator. He was a member of the Eagles Aries No. 4231 of Thayer, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Vada Eilene Metcalf, 86, of Benton, passed away Sept. 15. She was born March 24, 1925 in Jerico Springs, Mo., to the late Dale and Meleta Cross.
Eilene was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin Metcalf; a brother, Leon Cross; and a sister, Norma Tucker.
Margaret Lucille Gattin, 87, of Benton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15. She was born July 11, 1924, in Waldron.Â
Mrs. Gattin was a homemaker and mother to five boys. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Estes and Med Lavona Brashier; her husband, Leroy Gattin, a former superintendent of schools in Dierks and the Pulaski County Special School District.; a son, Richard Cross Gattin; two brothers, Howell R. “Bus” and William H. Brashier; and a sister, Dorothy Helen Atkins.

Memorial services for Ms. Telisa Ann Sikes, 48, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, Texas. Ms. Sikes passed away on Sept. 13 in Gilmer.
Telisa was born Nov. 21, 1962, in Benton, to Keith Dale and Maria Rebecca Landeros Rhea. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Alpha Latisha Yates, 55, of Traskwood, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14. She was born Feb. 12, 1956, in Saline County to Vernon and Frances Buffington. Alpha was of the Baptist faith, a retired LPN and enjoyed scrapbooking and crafts.Â
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Buffington; an infant daughter, Kathleen Yates; and two brothers, Mac and Tim Buffington.

Horace H. Rutherford Jr., 83, of Bryant, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 14, after a lengthy illness. He was born May 9, 1928 in Fairview, to Horace H. Rutherford Sr. and Maybelle Gilliam Rutherford. Mr. Rutherford is a veteran of World War II, where he served in the South Pacific. He was a builder and general contractor almost all of his life. When healthy, he served in many positions in the church and performed numerous community services and volunteer work. Mr.

Shirley Mae Boyette, 77 of Benton died Tuesday, September 13, in Little Rock. She was born October 9, 1933 in Keevil, Arkansas. Shirley was a retired teachers aide for the Benton Schools and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George H. Curtis Sr. and Eva Burrow Curtis, husband, Donald Boyette, son, Dwain Boyette, and two brothers, George H. Curtis Jr., Billy Bob Curtis.

Morris Scott Smith, 47, of Benton, died Monday, Sept. 12, at Saline Memorial Hospital. Mr. Smith was born Oct. 29,1963 in Little Rock, to the Rev. Morris L. and Elizabeth Reed Smith. He attended Arkansas Tech University and was a graduate of Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. He had been a deputy sheriff in Marion and Yell counties and was last employed by U.S. Security Services at Saline Memorial Hospital.Â
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton.
 Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father; a niece, Brooke Cramer; and a nephew, Andrew Barton.

Evelyn Yvonne Jackson, 47, of Benton, passed away Sunday, September 11 in Bryant. She was born March 3, 1964, in Benton to J.T. Raper, and the late Elsie Mae Raper.

Ms. Jackson worked in the customer service department of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for 17 years, and was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Martha Lois Kennedy Houston, 64, of Benton died September 11, in Little Rock. She was born February 2, 1947 in DeWitt, AR. Martha was self-employed and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Martha also loved to teach reading, was a Master Gardener, a lifetime member of the Home Extension Club and was a volunteer firefighter in Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Sarah Helen Kennedy, husband, Jim L. Houston, and a sister, Rita Kennedy Purdy.
