Lila Lee Raper

Lila Lee Raper, age 79, of Hot Springs Village, formerly of Benton, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014.  She was born February 26, 1935 in Bald Knob.  Mrs. Raper was a member of the Arkansas Education Association and of the Baptist Faith.  After teaching for 31 years at Angie Grant Elementary, she retired.  She would always share stories of her cows and animals with her students.  Mrs. Raper was an avid outdoors person and loved farming. 
She was preceded in death her parents, Ernest and Edna Grayson; husband, Jimmy Raper and a brother, John Christen Grayson.

Ravon Leon Clouse

Ravon Leon Clouse passed away June 7, 2014. He was born on June 21, 1943 in Blackoak, to the late Moses and Dovie Clouse.
Ravon was a jack of all trades and could fix about anything. He loved trains and is on one now, all aboard, one-way straight to heaven!
Ravon is survived by four children; Tammy Overby, Ravon Clouse, Jr., Pamala Phillips, and Angie Wilkerson; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved Ravon and will miss him always.

Edmond L. 'Buck' Layfield

Edmond L. "Buck" Layfield, 88, of Benton was received into the open arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 7.   For the past two years, he had been living at Four Seasons Residential Care Center.
He was born May 22, 1926, in Harmon, La., to Edmond L. Layfield Sr. and Martha Mae Layfield, who preceded him in death. Before his retirement, he had worked for 37 years as a maintenance mechanic for Reynolds Metals in Benton.
