Barbara Ann (Kiser) McGinley, 87, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, formerly of Benton, died August 29, in Hendersonville. She was born August 6, 1924 in Keokuk, Iowa. Barbara was a retired Registered Nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Calvin Kiser and Lillian Wright Kiser; husband, Harold W. McGinley; and son, John Michael McGinley.

Elizabeth (Bettye) Poindexter Smithers, 86, longtime Benton resident, passed away on Monday, August 29, after a courageous battle with Lung Disease. Bettye was born on August 21, 1925 in Magazine, to the late Edward Judson and Blanche Ellington Poindexter, moving to Booneville during her adolescent years. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University, where she was voted College Beauty, member of W.C.F.

Kathy Dickens Shaw, 61, of Benton, passed away Saturday, August 27, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. She was born January 1, 1950 in Little Rock to the late Joe Neil and Margaret L. Dickens. She obtained a Masters Degree from UALR.

She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Bridges of Haskell; brother, Joe Dickens of Benton; grandson, Hunter Bridges; niece, Sarah Dickens; sister-in-law, Jan Dickens; two best friends, Cherilyn Shane and Judy Ellis, and many other friends.

Mildred M. Cox, 94, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27. She was born May 20, 1917, in Dardanelle. Mrs. Cox retired from Timex and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in England. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra Kelly and Hattie Edith Stewart; husband, Coy Cox; son, Arnold Lewis Cox; her two brothers and her sister.

She is survived by her son, Kelly Cox; daughter, Troy and her husband Billy C. Graves of Cabot; sister, Ima Jean Yelton of Kentucky; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Johnny (James) William Hunnicutt, 78, of Benton, passed away Sunday, August 28. He was born March 21, 1933 in Benton to the late Will Hunnicutt and Marie Garner. Mr. Hunnicutt worked in maintenance at the Arkansas Human Development Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and five sisters.

Willie Rubin Richmond,66, of Benton, passed away Saturday, August 27. He was born September 21, 1944 in Benton. Mr. Richmond was retired from Alcoa and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fait and Josephine Richmond; step-son, Don E. Leslie and two brothers, Curtis and Ray Richmond.

John Wesley Prickett, 80, of Bryant, died Friday August 26.
He was born March 30, 1931 in Bryant.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wesley Prickett and Fay Rowland Prickett of Bryant; and his brother Max Prickett.
He graduated from Bryant High School in 1949 and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1956. John was an avid baseball player in his youth with The Bryant Rebels and contracted to play professional baseball in Greenville, Mississippi in the Cotton States League from 1950 to 1953. He was a U.S Army Veteran.

Cliff’Don Braydon Raper, infant son of Casey Don and Re’Becca Jean Skeen Raper, of Texarkana, Arkansas died August 19, in a local hospital.
Cliff’Don was born August 19, 2011, in Texarkana, Texas.
August 23rd
George Carroll Dicus, 74, of Benton passed away Monday, August 22, after a long illness and surrounded by his adoring family who lovingly cared for him in his final months. George was born May 19, 1937 in Little Rock, the son of the late Lonnie and Audrey Dicus.
Stephen Richard Lentz, 67, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 20, at his home in Rowlett, Texas, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 20, 1944, in Sandusky, OH, to the late Ralph Frederick and Constance Joan Camp Lentz. He was a graduate of Ohio University and was employed by AT&T/Lucent for 34 years.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Lentz and step-daughter, Kelley Page.
