Melvin Lee Hill, 79 of Paron, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2014, with his family by his side.
Mr. Hill was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Paron to his parents Sam and Mary Hill. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and had a general love for the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and being a Mason, where he enjoyed the job of cooking fish for the Paron Masonic Lodge fish fry.
Melvin was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. He was a very sharp-witted man and was a true joy to spend time with.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Allie Merle Hill.
William P. Sprecher, 91, of Alexander died Monday, April 28, 2014.Â
He was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Omaha, Neb., to the late Paul C. and Grace P. (Haynie) Sprecher,
He was an ATF agent for the Treasury Department.
William was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force and was present at the storming of Normandy beach on June 6, 1944. (That World War II event came to be known as D-Day.)
He was also a devoted member of the Adoniram Masonic Lodge 288, attaining the level of Master Mason in 1959. He served for a time as Master of his lodge.Â
Norman â€śNormâ€ť Francis Oliver, 81, of Benton passed away April 26, 2014
He was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Los Angeles, Calif.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and was of the Catholic Faith. Norm had a distinguished U.S. Navy career that eventually led him to employment with Dassault Falcon Jet and residence here in Arkansas. He not only found success at Dassault Falcon Jet, but also his loving wife of 15 years, Pearl Lenora.
