Edward Ellsworth Allbritton

Edward Ellsworth Allbritton, 70, of Benton went to be with his Lord on Jan. 13, 2014.
He was born April 14, 1943, in Little Rock and grew up in Magnet Grove. He was the former owner of Ed and Kay’s Restaurant in Benton, and for the past 10 years had worked as a long-haul truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed talking to people. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nealie Williams Allbritton; two brothers, William Allbritton and Fred Allbritton.

Daniel Boone Nickels Sr.

Daniel Boone Nickels Sr., 87, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.
He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Soldier, Ky., to Sherman and Goldie Nickels. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired as a disabled veteran. 
Mr. Nickels was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Perry Nickels; his wife, Pearl Nickels; and a son, Daniel B. Nickels Jr. of Louisiana.

Jean F. Adams

Jean F. Adams, 90, of Benton passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.  A gifted musician, she was a prominent voice teacher and vocal coach, active with Arkansas Junior Miss and highly sought as a pageant coach.
In the 1960s and early '70s, she directed the chancel choir at First United Methodist Church in Benton. She was active in MacDowell Music Club, dance club, and bowling league; was a crossword puzzle enthusiast; and continued to play in a bridge club at the age of 90. Known for her beautiful smile and her cheerful spirit, her presence lit up every room.
