Edith L. Cook, 77, of Benton was born Aug. 29, 1936, and passed away Jan. 14, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald D. Cook of 46 years; one son, Doyal Dewayne Cook; her parents, Noah Louallen and Elta Rickard Louallen; and her sisters, Netta Louallen, Gordie Hollowoa, Eunice Travis, Alma Rhodes Keller, Melba Louallen and Louise Green Nelson.
James Thomas Hogue, 88, of Mabelvale passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.Â He was born in Saline County on Aug. 1, 1925, to the late Thomas Randolph and Pearl Hogue.
He served in the Navy during World War II and worked for the railroad during his lifetime.
James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Charles G. Briggs, 78, of West Memphis died Jan. 10 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Briggs was a retired insurance salesman and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Elexander "A. E." Briggs and Velma Leo Long Briggs; five brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by two sisters, Patsy Briggs Cash of Latham, Ill., and Pamela Briggs Coulter of West Memphis; and a brother, Danny Briggs of Benton.
No service is planned.

Edward Ellsworth Allbritton, 70, of Benton went to be with his Lord on Jan. 13, 2014.
He was born April 14, 1943, in Little Rock and grew up in Magnet Grove. He was the former owner of Ed and Kayâ€™s Restaurant in Benton, and for the past 10 years had worked as a long-haul truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed talking to people. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nealie Williams Allbritton; two brothers, William Allbritton and Fred Allbritton.
Daniel Boone Nickels Sr., 87, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.
He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Soldier, Ky., to Sherman and Goldie Nickels. HeÂ served in the Navy during World War II and retired as a disabled veteran.Â
Mr. Nickels was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Perry Nickels; his wife, Pearl Nickels; and a son, Daniel B. Nickels Jr. of Louisiana.
Jean F. Adams, 90, of Benton passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.Â A gifted musician, she was a prominent voice teacher and vocal coach, active with Arkansas Junior Miss and highly sought as a pageant coach.
In the 1960s and early '70s, she directed the chancel choir at First United Methodist Church in Benton.Â She was active in MacDowell Music Club, dance club, and bowling league; was a crossword puzzle enthusiast; and continued to play in a bridge club at the age of 90.Â Known for her beautiful smile and her cheerful spirit, her presence lit up every room.
Melva Ball Milwee Wallace passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. She was born March 5, 1932 in Saline County.
Funeral service will be held at a later date.

William â€śBillâ€ť Earl Chastain, 63, of Benton passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.Â He was born May 29, 1950 in Benton.
Bill graduated from Benton High School in 1969.Â He was a clerk for Safeway/Harvest Foods for 25 years and later was a custodian for the Benton Public Schools.
Bill was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church where he was in the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Lakeside Hunting Club in Malvern.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Floyd Jr. and Mildred Wright Chastain; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Chastain.
Alice Louise Wiley, 82, of Alexander passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.Â She was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Walsenburg, Colo.. to the late Frank and Frances Wozinak Zudar.
Mrs. Wiley was a full-time mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Â
Her husband, Clarence E. Wiley, also preceded her in death.
Christy D. Young, 30, of Alexander passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.Â She was born June 28, 1983 in Little Rock.Â
Christy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Anna Maddox; and her grandfather, Lawrence Young.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Wakefield; three daughters, Abby, Makayla and Olivia Wakefield; a stepdaughter, Jessica Neld; her parents, Jim and Anna Young; her grandmother, Betty Young; four brothers, Kevin, Jay, Edward and Rodney Morrison; and three sisters, Peggy Wayman, Lauralee Toland and Diane Baldwin.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
